Laurent Bakery on Burke Road in Camberwell is a true gem, offering a delightful taste of French cuisine in the heart of Melbourne. From the moment you step into the bakery, you are transported to a charming Parisian patisserie, with its warm ambiance and tantalizing aromas of freshly baked bread and pastries.

The display cases are overflowing with an array of tempting treats, from delicate croissants and pain au chocolat to rustic sourdough loaves and decadent cakes. Each item is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using only the finest ingredients and traditional French techniques.

I recently indulged in a flaky croissant and a rich pain au chocolat, both of which were perfectly executed. The croissant was buttery and light as air, while the pain au chocolat was oozing with decadent chocolate filling. I also sampled a slice of their signature tarte Tatin, which was perfectly caramelized and bursting with apple flavor.

In addition to its delectable pastries, Laurent Bakery also offers a range of savory options, including sandwiches, quiches, and salads. I opted for the Croque Monsieur, a classic French sandwich filled with ham, cheese, and bechamel sauce. The sandwich was grilled to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a gooey, cheesy interior.

The staff at Laurent Bakery is friendly and knowledgeable, always eager to share their passion for French cuisine. They are attentive to customer needs and make sure that every visit is a delightful experience.

Delicious danish. The fruits on it were sweet and goes well with the custard cream. The latte was good.

The cafe was crowded with people having tea.

They're consistently friendly here and their pies, cakes and hot choccies are deliciously sublime for eat/drink in or takeaway. I don't think they should heat up their pies in the microwave though, as they go soggy and it ruins their good quality. Also, some of their staff didn't seem to know what Bastille Day is lol. Other than this they're a good café with nice furnishings overall.

I had ordered chocolate cake for my wife's birthday and my wife had ordered mini cakes for my birthday. All the cakes were yummy and delicious. The quality is top notch and the service is spot on. Also, the staff are very friendly and explain which cake would suit our taste.

I would just like to commend the professionalism of the staff. While waiting in line I was unfortunate enough to witness a wild Karen attack.

While overhearing the customers complaint (which was hard not to do at that volume) I was amazed by how calmly and respectfully the staff serving her were.

While I can understand that they were upset that their cake order for “15 people coming over today” it is hard to have sympathy when the staff at Laurent had tried to call her beforehand and inform her that her order was unable to be fulfilled.

Despite still leaving with one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen, Karen was sure to inform the victim of her tirade that there would be a negative review to follow.

So in light of that here I am leaving a glowing review, despite the clear distress caused to the employee, they were able to shake it off, smile and serve a delicious breakfast and coffee.

Never disappointed with Laurent Bakery especially birthday cakes. All cakes are amazing and very moist and creamy but not so sweet. but my favourite is raspberry and chocolate mousse. Worth money

Always loved their cakes, coffee and croissants. It is always so delicious. Recently ordered trio cake for my friend’s birthday from them .. amazing.thanks to the Laurent to make her day nice and delicious 😋

I came in the other day, and I just have to say the pastries were delicious, but honestly the staff team were the highlight of my experience! Everyone was so helpful and kind, especially Brooklynn. I would definitely come back

came in today for a latte and pastry. prices are a bit too expensive for sandwiches. they seemed a bit understaffed but we’re still very attentive. Brooklyn helped me out and she was very helpful.

There is a larger seating area at the Camberwell Laurent - staff are ok, but the food quality is pretty consistent with Laurent (the patisseries sweet or savoury). Not cheap either - you’re also paying for the name and experience; Burke Road Camberwell is a great shopping strip to visit in Melbourne, and all Laurent stores are good to visit for the food and experience.

Lovely experience. The food was perfect (bit on the pricey side) but all the staff deserve a medal. I was so impressed, will be here again!

My experience at Laurent was extremely joyful, due to the fact of a young and coming waiter know as Noah. Noah provided me and my son a super experience. We discussed such things as global politics and the Collingwood football club. My son had a fantastic time and made a serious connection with Noah. We will definitely be attending again just so we can receive some great custom service from Noah. My only downfall was that Noah was wearing some interesting footwear. I recommend he purchase some appropriate footwear. I loved his hair cut. Overall fantastic experience.

Arpita and Ditta in Camberwell Laurent were awesome today! 100 stars for them they made our day! Loved the coffees the toasties, and their greetings.

The staff were so lovely today, was very busy but they handled it well. Beautiful coffee will definitely be back

Great coffee and pastry

Nice and spacious place. Lovely decor and great selection of cakes, pastries and savouries. Opened until 6pm so you can enjoy your coffees in the afternoon just like in Europe. Will definitely be back

Beautiful food as always!! I was served by a lady with black hair who was extremely helpful despite how many orders she was dealing with.

We always enjoy a light lunch and coffee. The food choices are good and dessert choices amazing.
Laurent does get busy but once you're seated you can relax for as long as you like.
The padded bench seats are very comfortable as well as the few large armchairs but these go quickly.
