Absolutely amazing!
Food was fantastic! Cannot recommend more.
It gets super busy though so I would recommend booking a table, and if there is a line out the door you do need to go in and tell them you are there for your booking. Otherwise you will be waiting in line for a table instead.
Highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken, all the entrees and the spring onion pancake.
The BBQ meat section of the menu can be cooked at table or in kitchen. Keep in mind these are all full meals. We ordered way to much thinking it was like other Korean BBQ places with small amounts of meat. 🤣
Even the entrees were large.
Love love love

The place was homely and the waitress there was very friendly and seemed like one's grandparent. The food was also very nice and hot, which we chose. The atmosphere was peaceful with the customers all interacting with the waitresses well.

the place to go to for Sun Doo Bu, it tastes just right all the spices and the kick. in this area and the neighboring suburb, this place offers the best one.
Bibimbap is also super nice with the stone pot, the rice becomes crunchy at the bottom. and side dishes are always delicious.

Been going to this place since 2011. Best Korean food that feels like it’s home made and has a special place in our heart. The Aunty is super sweet and remembers how spicy we like it 😂

One of my favourite place that serve authentic Korean dishes. The lady owner is friendly and attentive. This is the only place in Melbourne where we can get BOSSAM. The food always taste delicious with manydifferent side dishes.

Loyally ate till we couldn't feel ourselves and was like $100 for 4 people. Great flavours of authentic Korean dishes. There were so many Koreans there, full house on a Thursday night. Initially only had one staff but the older lady joined. Very attentive to their best for unexpected busy night. Comparatively much busier than the one next door.

So sad to see this restaurant close down - it was our favorite restaurant in Clayton. We were coming here for almost 25 years and the owner was always super friendly to us and she took extra special time to keep our daughter happy.
Last time we visited 2 weeks ago all the furniture was gone inside & there was no notice on the door explaining what had happened/reason for closure.
I noticed same thing for several other places in that same corner building (including other restaurants) - so I'm guessing maybe it's going to be demolished or owner sold it (?). None of the others had any sign up either.
If anyone has any more information please post here.
Also, am hoping the owner is all OK & in good health and wish her the best for future.

Update (28/12/23) : FYI - Just read article today in The Age. That entire block/building was acquired for the Suburban Rail Loop Clayton Station. It will be demolished and eventually high rise apartment blocks will be built on top. Businesses who were leasing were not provided any funding to move to other locations by the government & apparently were ordered to leave by March. Very sad to hear this - while I welcome the development of the SRL, long running businesses like this one should have clearly been compensated so they could move to another location.

The Korean food is authentic. Although there are lots of guests, the staffs still try their best to offer the service.

Update 2024: Permanently closed, due to development of Suburban Rail Loop. Very sad.

Authentic Korean food. I have been here many times. My favourite is beef sparerib soup. Always enjoy meals here.
Reading previous reviews, there were replies from fake owner. Beware. Auntie owner is very nice and genuine lady.

As a Korean, SUPER good “Gamja tang”
(Pork ribs with potatoes). You can choose mild or spicy(Normal). If you cannot eat spicy food at all, try mild flavour :) You are not going to regret it!

Food never disappoints here. The front house is as welcoming as it gets! Once you break rapport will treat you like her grandchildren. Extremely pleasant experience every single time, as long as you can overlook the language and cultural barrier and be receptive to some more intimate hospitality than usual

Nice place for dinner. Korean ginseng chicken soup was very tasty. The pancake was slightly underdone but okay. The bimbibap was well cooked with the crunchy bits. I would recommend this place. Service can be a bit slow but I think that everywhere is short of staff. Remember to book ahead.

Friends and I have been coming here for over 14 years, at least once a month. Consistently awesome. Most authentic and delicious Korean restaurant in Melbourne. Been to Korea multiple times and this place brings us right back to Korea. Bit pricey compared to other places but worth it because no where is better. Must try!

There are several good-quality Korean restaurants in Melbourne, but this one has my favourite side dishes. Plentiful and delicious, particularly the sticky sweet potatoes, which I haven't seen anywhere else. The main dishes are good quality as well, don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. Price is not the cheapest, but reasonable. The owner is absolutely lovely. When I moved back to Clayton after being away for 2 years, she still recognised me when I came into her restaurant! She dotes on me, and a few of her other regular customers too. Admittedly her mannerisms can appear a bit abrasive at times, which may explain some of the negative comments on here.

Although we had a couple of hiccups trying to eat here now that we finally made it, it’s safe to say it was worth the hassle.
The older lady who served us was friendly and fast.
Once the food came out we were very happy to say the least. I can recommend coming on a Sunday evening as they only serve Bossam over the weekend. We loved all the sides and the serving was generous.
I understand why people might be frustrated with the service but at least for us tonight was a total hit!
Would definitely recommend even though booking is difficult.
I recommend booking a table, then calling to double check on the day you’re booking was written down and they’re not closed!

I regard this place as one of the best Korean restaurants in Melbourne. If not, then it has the best bibim neangmyon in Melbourne. I read all these comments about the owner being rude and easily annoyed. She makes wonderful food and I will be willing to be nagged by her ( which I do on a regular) any day to have her spicy cold noodles and fried dumplings anyday. She always tries her best and is often under staff. Recently it seems she's very fatigue and I do feel for her. Regardless, her food speaks for itself, yes it's expensive but is it worth the price. Without a shadow of a doubt.
