Glenlyon General Store

What a gem. We stopped by this store by chance and so glad we did. The warm welcome was so lovely. We sat out in the beautiful garden for lunch not knowing what to expect well …… we ordered fish and chips the best you will ever taste and my husband the chicken burger which I had to taste and boy the flavour. The service is unbelievable even for our dog who was given her own bowl and fluffy blanket to sit on. Wherever you live in Melbourne make a day trip and visit this gem you will not be disappointed. Absolutely delightful place to eat. We sat in the garden area under a canopy of russet grape vines surrounded by beautiful plants, an old Bedford (?) truck, raised garden beds and leafy trees. We ate fish and chips which were delicious. Dessert was orange syrup cake with cream. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The perfect spot to meet friends on a sunny day. Thoroughly recommend Glenlyon General Store.

Underrated Breakfast Gem….

Let me share something with you about this place that's seriously worth mentioning—it's highly underrated when it comes to breakfast and coffee. I genuinely mean it. The food they serve is absolutely fantastic, and their coffee is truly exceptional. What really sets this place apart, though, is the genuinely friendly and accommodating staff. Despite not having a reservation, they swiftly found a way to seat us, providing a level of service that was truly remarkable. Moreover, the ambiance of the place is both beautiful and cozy, adding to the overall delightful experience. I strongly recommend giving it a try.

We had a fantastic experience at the Glenlyon General Store. The service was friendly, the gardens and decor were lovely and the food delicious. We'll be back (for another fabulous Glenlyon Toastie & Coconut & Almond Torte) again in the future.

Truly one of the nicest little foodie places I have stumbled across during my travels. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and the aroma of delicious food hit my nasal passages. I ordered a flat white, a tempeh burger and a piece of the caramel slice (which I’m already craving more of!)
I got to hang out in the beautiful courtyard and had a wonderful afternoon.

Friendly, prompt service in a sunny courtyard with shade covered tables. My Beef Burger was juicy and delicious and my dining companion's Glenlyon Toastie was equally great. My coffee was full flavoured while not being bitter 😍 An all round great experience.

Cute little country vibe, great shop with loads of tasty items. The friendly staff were awesome. The bacon and egg roll was delicious. Just wish we had longer to stop here and enjoy it more.

As part time Daylesford locals, we always enjoy our lunch visits to the Glenlyon General Store. Duncan, Jefferson and their wonderful staff are so welcoming and friendly. The Store's menu, including the frequently changing specials, always offer something tempting as does the selection of home made cakes, which go perfectly with the well made coffee.
Dining either inside or outdoors both offer rustic charm.
The Store also has a great range of produce and wine available for sale.
If in the area, a visit to the Glenlyon General Store, is highly recommended.

Visited on a day when we were blessed with clear blue autumn sky. Had a lovely lunch served in good time by attentive staff. Will definitely be returning. Glenlyon is quite "off the beaten track" but well worth a detour to enjoy a pleasant lunch in cosy surroundings.

We had dinner there on a Friday day night with no expectations about their food. However it turned out to be amazing!!! LOVE the food so much. The flavour and quality of the food are both amazing. The owner also is a big foodie. ❤❤❤

Pulled in for a break while on a motorcycle trip and enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was well-cooked and the chips (wedges) were abundant and delicious. Served with tartare and tomato sauces as well as a small salad. Great value and hit the spot!

Great host, great drinks, great food. This seems to be a local institution and I see why. Bookings are a must on key days, but there are takeaway options, however be prepared to wait. Go for a wander along the country road. It's worth it. Buy some of the amazing chocolate when you leave. I feel very lucky to have just moved in down the road!!

A very quaint café tucked away in Glenlyon, about a 10 minute drive from Daylesford. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. The coffee was amazing and the food was delicious. We sat by the fireplace and it was a warm and cosy ambience. I highly recommend this place for breakfast/lunch and we'll definitely be back when we visit Daylesford again.

The boys had beef burger and the best burgers. I had a keto chicken burger and it was the most delicious and the first burger I had in 18 months since being on keto due to health issues. Thank you so much for delicious food, great service and friendly atmosphere. Definitely will be back ☺
