Okami Japanese Restaurant

Food is good, almost include every Japanese dishes can think of, tasty too. Price is very fair too.
Due to the above it can get pretty busy, service is trying to keep up the pace, but understand it’s not so easy for 2-3 people to serve so many tables.
Take your time to enjoy the food

It would be great if the portions are little bit bigger for sushi options. Other than that the quality of food and the service was great

Food was super tasty.
Smaller portion sizes allow you to try a larger variety of foods.
We didn’t feel rushed at all.
Having an all you can eat that cooks each serving to order is so much healthier and safer that a standard buffet. Will definitely be back.

Thank you to the staff for making our son’s 18th birthday day lunch of 38 guests a memorable and wonderful experience. The food was delicious and service was friendly and made us feel comfortable. Highly recommended for your family function.

Another great evening / night out with friends. We ignore some of the negative comments posted recently and determine to have a good time. Well, I can't fault the staff and management.

The staff that serves us remind us of penalty if more than 200 gm food waste policy. I find it acceptable as food wastage is ethically wrong and selfish.

The first session was fully booked, and we have two tables for the second session. There are still plenty of seats left.

There is a price increase and some items are not available, and new ones added.

We thoroughly enjoy our dinner, and the two young staff who serve well very well.

After lockdown restriction is relaxed, a group of friends and I chose to have our first dinner at this all-you-can-eat Japanese "buffet". My wife and I have introduced a number of friends to this place, and on this occasion is of no exception.

The porch at the front entrance is a bit run down, with one of the wooden rail rotted and broken.

We selected a large variety of dishes, and everyone enjoyed the freshness, taste and flavour of the food.

I have decided to improve the rating from 4 stars to 5 stars this time.

Great place to have a group of friends who enjoy Japanese food. Plenty of carparking space at rear of restaurant.

Unlike a formal Japanese restaurant, which may cost an arm and a leg, the price is very reasonable for all-you-can-eat.

It is best to go with a group, so that you can try more variety of dishes.

I am a bit partial about the squid, which tends to be rubbery to eat.

Boy, oh boy, the restaurant sign lost the "O", and we thought we went to the wrong restaurant. The sign is erected close to Anderson Creek Road, and it is visible at night from the road.

Okami Doncaster East belongs the Okami chain, and is an all you can eat Japanese restaurant. Some serves are small, and some are big enough for at least 4. Dinners can order any dish once or numerous times except certain ice cream.

We booked the 5 pm seating, and there is plenty of carparking space. The restaurant was not completely full even we finished our dinner.

It has an oriental interior deco, not completely Japanese, and dinners do sit on chairs. Some Japanese restaurants in Japan do have arrangement for the clients to sit in squatting position on the a mat.

These are a fantastic array of dishes; colourful as well as delicious. The only disappointing one was the miso soup. In the menu , the picture distinctly describe the soup has tofu and seaweed. Even with a microscope, I doubt I could detect the tofu and seaweed, and did ask the waitress to convey the message to the chef. The replacement bowl of soup was just the same.

There are many deep fried dishes, the Japanese salad is good to give it a try. The fried Wagyu beef "cube", and raw slices are tender, and juicy.

I was a bit partial about the squid. It would be nice if it was tenderised slightly. The prawns were fresh but not raw, and "sweet" to taste.

The Wasabi for the Sushi is pretty hot and "potent" and help to clear any nasal blockage in winter.

It is desirable if you go with a group of friends, because you can try more variety of dishes.

Our friends from the US were more than impressed with the Japanese dine out.

Every single dish we had was delicious. All you can eat means just that....keep ordering until you can't fit in anymore food!!

We usually go to the one in Brunswick but around this area. Made last minute booking and was lucky to get a spot. Food was quick and tasty. The only slight issue is we go caught in the transition period and it got a bit chaotic but overall still very good. Will return for sure.

Delicious Japanese, can’t fault it! This is definitely going to be our new local. So reasonably priced, friendly staff and food comes out so quickly. Would recommend booking in advance as it gets busy early!

I had an amazing time today along with my 2 kids enjoying my youngest birthday…The staff were very welcoming and attentive to our needs…The food was fresh and tasted amazing, everything we ordered was great and were served hot and quickly..They are friendly and caring and the manager helped in providing a candle to my son and put on a birthday song without me even asking, it was very kind..Thank you very much.. Will definitely coming back

Had dinner at the Doncaster East Okami Japanese Restaurant and really enjoyed our visit. The food was really delicious and fresh. Really thought the quality of the beef/ meat and sushi was exceptional!

Found the staff very attentive and very friendly.

Okami has great variety of foods to choose from. Friendly service room very spacious we go back there every time
