Fabulous place to visit 365 days a year. From the lighthouse or pier there are great views across ‘the heads’.
Good interpretation / information boards.
Fishing from the pier appears to be a popular part time and you also have great views back to the beach from here.
A lot of history in the area so do read the little pamphlets that are sprinkled at various access points to the park.
Abide by rules as law enforcement are strict here.
Reasonably wheelchair friendly in parts. Kid friendly. Good car parking. Toilets nearby. Please read the signs as there are slot of things that are important to understand such as the usual or rubbish and birdlife but also cliffs that are unstable and dogs in beaches.

Great rock pools and interesting rock formations for photography and exploring.
Lots of seagulls too. The day I was there it was more protected from wind than jetty side. Further up is sandy beach.

The Rip is best viewed from the lookout at Point Lonsdale light or from the ferry midway to Sorrento on the Mornington side. When the tide is running it can get up to 8 knots and the whole of Port Philip bay water is running through a narrow gap of on a couple of km. Huge ships coming and going from the port are prime spectator sports for locals and tourist. When the weather is rough it virtually breaks the whole way across and is spectacular. Well worth that visit.

Love the walk through the park and highly recommend walking to the end and along the beach until the very point where the sand runs out. The view is worth the hard effort.

Great lighthouse and great views. Best to go there on a low tide so that you can go out on the rock pools
