Great organisation,great projects, great animals and especially the way information is presented in such a funny, playful and informative fashion is really really cool 😎 thank you for making us understand what great creatures bears are and how we can protect them and our nature and forests better

Visiting Bärenwald was a great experience. We took the guided tour and were accompanied by 2 guides who put the care in caretaker. The tour was very informative and fun and there was plenty of opportunity to ask all the questions you want.

The bears come first here, as they should! And it was amazing to see all that is done for them.

I highly recommend visiting and I want to thank all the staff for the great time we had there!

A very memorable Sunday afternoon spent learning about and with Bear Mark, Bear Brumca and Bear Erich under Gerlinde Mairhofer's guidance.
BÄRENWALD is doing phenomenal work and we were grateful to experience it with a tour around the sanctuary and a chance to see the sweet bears up close.
Gerlinde was absolutely wonderful, her patience and kindness made the tour an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Gerlinde.

Bonus points for the vegan schnitzel option at the cafe, very much appreciated.

I'm a fan of bears, I have 3 favorite bears and one of them is Mark, the resident of Arbesbach bear sanctuary. My birthday wish was to see Mark in real life, we drove 14 hours from Belgium to Austria to see him. Let me tell you, it was worth it ( now I have another 2 favorite bears xD). Please, make sure to book in advance your guided tour. Our guides were Annelies and Daan. I was amazed by their devotion to bears and to this place, their professionalism, intelligence and kind spirits. Seeing them at work persuaded me once again, every donation is going directly to 🐻. People like Annelies and Daan make our world a better place. Knowing, that Mark, Brumca and Erich are in such good caring hands, make me feel at ease. If I could give 10000 stars, I would. This sanctuary deserve all the praise. It's definitely not the last time I visit it.

A place where you learn much about brown bears and see some of them quite close.
The bears are former circusmembers and were saved by Vier Pfoten out of these not bear-friendly circumstances.
It is very child friendly and there is a quite fun-looking playground where I would have been forever as a child (;

The area isn't that large but with children you can probably spend half a day there and get a wonderful memory

Important work is done here. Great to see the bears up close. The kids loved the playground and motor skills parcours.

Great place and totally reasonable fees. We took a guided tour with Matthias which was really informative and would highly recommend. Food and drinks fairly priced and they allow dogs! Super cool

Super Ausflugsziel mit Hund. Das Areal ist zwar klein, aber mit sehr viel Liebe gemacht! Mit der Tageskarte kann man immer wieder rein und die Hunde bekommen sogar Leckerlis mit. Uns hat es dort sehr gefallen und die Bären haben es echt gut dort.
