Hotel Harfenwirt

Can not praise this hotel enough. Herbert the owner is a true gentleman 👏 Location is idyllic. Food is amazing. And the scenery fantastic from our room which once again was also very good. When we arrived we had a fair bit of rain but even that did not spoil our holiday. Cable cars a short walk away from the hotel. And local buses stop outside hotel and very easy to navigate

Amazing hotel. Super friendly staff. You can ski down right in front of the hotel.
Our room was a good size, clean and comfy.
The food was good. Breakfast is a buffet style but plenty of yoghurt, cereal, hams, cheeses, bread, butter, jams, boiled and scrambled eggs. You pick your main part of your dinner in the morning. The evening has a 4 course meal, soup, salad bar buffet, main meal and then pudding. Absolutely fantastic. Loved our stay here.
There is a swimming pool, steam room and sauna (I would advise taking your own towels as the ones at the hotel are a little small) but the facilities are all clean, tidy and working daily. The boot room is heated and easy to access from the slopes and from in the hotel.
I would love to go back here again.

I didn't stay here but kept going for their delicious food.

I had a rump steak cooked to perfection, and the next night, a lovely salmon filet.
The chicken dish was good, but you can't beat the steak here.

Service was excellent as well as entertaining. The head waiter acts as a host and really gets to know his customers. Very welcoming.

Me and my family have just recently been here on holiday and absolutely loved it! The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was local food which was delicious! We stayed half board so breakfast and dinner were included. Breakfast was continental style with an extensive selection of cheeses and meats to choose from. There was also scrambled egg and hard-boiled egg and plenty of cereal and fruit should you wish to try it. They also had some toast which I loved to smother with a Nutella style spread. Every night we had a three-course meal which I absolutely loved! The salad choices were also plentiful as well. Quite a lot of the food we had in the evening was local Austrian dishes which made the experience a lot more authentic. I also had the local schnapps made from turnips. The pool was a swimmers dream. The swim spa and the Jacuzzi in the same pool with a few water jets dotted around the sides too for good measure. All I had to do was just swim from one to the other. Best pool I’ve been in! They also had live music on some nights of the week as well. The standard of the musicians was really high. I would love to come back to this place!

Rooms were comfortable and clean. The food was very good. The staff were lovely. The boss was a gas character, and the view was spectacular. Ideal for the novis skier.

The hotel is really great. Thank you very much for the boss because we arrived on Monday at 12:00 p.m. and the room was not prepared but we had a room to put things down. Thank you very much also to Arbe and bajo because they are 2 great people, we love you and we are the French group if you read the review. Meals were great.

I have just completed a 2 week stay in Hotel Harfenwirt and can thoroughly recommend this hotel to others considering a stay in the area. I did read some negative comments but the only one I can come close to concurring with is that the towels are "slightly" smaller than bath sized - though definitely not small and they are very fluffy and fit for purpose and changed rather too regularly - I'm happy to use mine more than once to save the planet.

I stayed half board and the food has been absolutely excellent. There was a good spread for breakfast with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, assorted breads with spreads and/or sliced meat/cheese/salad tea/coffee and juices. The evening meal was different every day with a choice of three mains along with a soup, salad and dessert. I was spoilt for choice and thoroughly enjoyed every single meal - my only regret was that I couldn't have multiple choices.

I was in a single room which was actually bigger than some doubles I have stayed in. Very warm as is the norm in ski resorts but this was easily fixed by turning the radiators off. Plenty of hot water, storage space and a good wi-fi signal even though it was only quoted as being available in the lobby. The wi-fi connection did occasionally drop but at least I didn't have to go to the lobby to use it

I was privileged to have been seated near other single travellers at meal times who were a joy to become acquainted with. I even met three who had stayed at this hotel many times previously - a real credit to Herbert, the owner, who is a real character who spent time getting to know us all and even played his harp for us - a memory I will always cherish.

I was on a skiing holiday and it is worth mentioning that the free ski bus stop is right outside the hotel giving direct access to Aufach and the connected Ski Jewel area though there are also several interconnected pistes in Neiderau accessible from right outside the hotel. The hotel has its own heated ski/boot room although it is worth mentioning that there are no lockers so if you want that added bit of security for your skis/boots bring your own lock for them although I'm sure you will be fine without.

I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area.

Would highly recommend this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Rooms very clean and cosy. Lots of hot water. Lifts straight across the road which brings you on a lovely run down to the main gondola. If ever back in Niederau we would 100% stay here again.

Great hospital hotel staff, especially the boss man. Such a kind guy. Rooms where super nice and clean. Awesome breakfast and 3 course dinner, every day something else. Ski location was not the best but with the ski bus your in 10 min in auffach which is better. Pool and sauna where super nice. Ski storage and everything youll need for you wintersport holidays.

Good hotel close to the Ski Slopes. Great Pool and Spa facilities. Nice rooms in the new section with fabulous views.

I've been visiting here for the last 30 years plus, cannot recommend the hotel highly enough, whether it be a summer or winter vacation, it ideally situated for both..... Herbert and his staff will always give you a hearty welcome!

Excellent. Clean, warm, friendly and well situated for skiing, bus services and walking.

Went for a drink after a day skiing. Staff are kind and service is fast.

Quirky as usual, ski in and out, nice facilities great staff.
