Hotel Sonnschein

A great location for skiing, rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was good, staff were friendly and really helpful. One minor issue with the shower was sorted out immediately. I'd happily return.

Really lovely hotel in a quiet location, but within easy walking distance of village centre and ski lifts.
Our room was very large and cleaned daily to a high standard. The restaurant was beautifully traditional, serving a choice of local & international dishes. The bar area was very welcoming and the spa was excellent, although it was a bit annoying there were children in the adult area! Emily was a wonderful host, checking on us daily during the evening meal & giving us lots of useful information about the local area. In fact, the whole team was very friendly & nothing was too much trouble.

What more can I say. Everyone made us feel very welcome. The meals were first class. Room was large and very clean. Wellness facilities were brilliant. Tilly the cat was just handsome and managed reception very well.

Very clean, large family run hotel very friendly staff, large bedrooms with balconies, two indoor swimming pools and one outdoor pool. Adult Spa area with steam and Sauna (note Austrian rules no clothes so be warned!) Food varied, plentiful and high quality. Highly recommend

On a coach holiday with leger from the 22nd until the 26th December to Austria and stayed in the sonnschein ,the hotel is excellent, location excellent, food excellent Emily the owner and staff were brilliant,will definitely go back.

Wonderful hotel with great food,spacious and comfortable rooms.
Gorgeous spa,close to shops and skilifts.
More than fairly priced.
Only thing that I missed were the croissants for breakfast and water and drinks as per half board have to be paid extra and are really expensive (5.80 eur for a bottle of Gasteiner water 750ml)

The view is spectacular all around!! The breakfast is fresh and tasteful. Love the fresh tea leaves. The staff is always smiling and willing to help.

Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel, some 4 or 5 times now , either as a stopover en-route to Italy, Croatia etc. or a longer stay as a base to visit Salzburg, Innsbruck and Munich. We've always had an excellent room, staff are friendly as is Mr.Thaler, the owner.

Reading the reviews we weren't quite sure what to expect but it was part of a ski-deal. But would actually recommend if you're looking for healthy wholesome Austrian based hospitality and food. Generally not so 1/2 or full board.... but reception was efficient; staff generally sociable; rooms very clean and a perfect private place to relax ( beds were made every day in a different style! Nice touch! TV has typical alpine reception but reading kept us happy). We had great Balcony view of slopes! And at one point had a problem with the hot water- not hot! (Sorted straight away). Then food- salad/ breads emptied due to influx of additional guests! (Sorted straight away). We enjoyed feeling like we was in Austria due to the traditional gastrostomy and clothing worn by staff. Hotel has other features, not even sampled- sauna, steam room, pool etc) Would I visit again- yes for skiing! Can't vouch for summer but we spoke to a number of repeat returners both winter and summer.

On the down side no tea making facilities in the room only a kettle had to buy the coffee which cost 10euros, and the meal portions was more like a child's serving,

Fantastic experience. Friendly and efficient staff, delicious breakfast, great food in the evening. Has a pool(outside and indoor), sauna, table tennis etc. Well located, quiet too. Highly recommended.

I was impressed with the accommodation, cleaned and presentable, the amazing view from the balcony is so amazing!!! Although limited option with the food but appetising! Staff approachable and helpful!!!

A very nice place to stay. Clean and well looked after. A good selection of food choices in the evening and a lovely breakfast with lots of choice too. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Pool is nice and there's also a steam room with showers. My partner had a massage which she said was very good.

Very spacious rooms wifi in rooms staff very friendly food was very nice coach trip I was on for my stay in dec 6 2022 its a ski place not mutch to look round the place outside of the hotel but it's more of a ski place

Stayed here on holiday for 2 weeks Aug 22. Indoor pool with spa, outside pool which is great. Hotel, rooms and food all spot on. Centrally located for Niederau Village.

This is the 2nd time I've been to this hotel and I've also visited their sister hotel up the road. Both are a collection, great value for money, all very friendly and attentive staff and the food and service is off a high standard. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable and the pool area is very relaxing. Thanks for such a great stay, if I come back to Niederau I'll be back to this hotel

Absolutely marvellous place, granted I last visited 2 years ago. But when I did I thoroughly enjoyed myself, lovely room, fantastic gym facilities and a lovely pool, the food wasn’t half bad either. Plus it’s location in regard to the slopes was bang on, only a short walk, however it does feel like a marathon in ski boots, much like any walk does.
