Informative. And very interesting to see it is a sand maze. At the end there is a gift shop and restaurant were you can buy good wine and chese that goes with it

Loved the guided tour! Great wines were sampled!! Had to get the Eiswein for the wife!

It's amazing what people built here to store wine. There's a nice tour (German only, but an English audio guide is available) that takes an hour and a half with a knowledgeable and funny guide. Take a jacket, the temperature is constantly around 8-10 Celsius down there. Must see attraction when one visits Retz.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff at the information center. We arrived right as they closed on a Friday evening but the helpful lady stayed with us past closing time and helped call around to find available accommodation. Everything in and around Retz was fully booked and it took over half an hour of calling to find us a place. Thanks so very much.

This is a crazy place and a real gem! The city of Retz has its own 'underworld', meaning that there are dozens of kilometers of tunnels underneath the city. Those were traditionally used as wine cellars since Retz is a popular wine growing city. The cellars in Retz are the largest of its kind in Austria! The good thing is, you can visit the tunnels with a guide. Keep an eye at the dates of the christmas market in Retz...on certain dates this market is held underground which is fantastic and very unique experience!

The best food in Retz. We tried 4 other Open places. Leberaufstrich and sheep cheese salad were delicious.

Tolle Führung durch die Unterwelt von Retz. Man sieht in 1,5h ca. 5% der insges. ca. 20km Kellergänge. Von der Retzer Geografie/Geologie über die Geschichte bis zur Weinkultur erfährt man zahlreiche interessante Details. Ich war erstaunt was sich da alles unter dem Ort verbirgt und sehr positiv überrascht von der Umsetzung dieser Ausstellung. Der Guide war Top, die anschließende Weinverkostung ein extra Highlight. Gerne wieder!
