Bodega Catena Zapata

I had been looking forward to visiting this winery(bodega) and I am glad to have finally made it. The architecture of the building is Mayan and is definitely a sight to see. I did the wine and music tour and it was interesting and different than any other tour I have done. I could see how music can affect your taste after experiencing this. The wine is top notch and the facilities are incredible. You will need a reservation to get into the place. Also be aware when walking around and taking photos you will be asked if you need any help. If you are in Mendoza this is a must see winery.

The vineyard visit was amazing! The guide was very friendly and really took the time to explain the lovely history of the brand and how family plays a central role in everything. You really get to learn about and taste the difference in each of the malbecs they feature. The tour was informative as well as tasty as it also came with a degustation of local snacks that paired perfectly with the wine.

They now also have a restaurant close to la pirámide. It is a must visit not just for the delectable tasting menu but also for the beautiful architecture and the treasures it holds underneath. We opted for the smaller tasting menu and left full and satisfied. Bodega Catena Zapata should be a must on everyone’s list of places to visit!

We were hosted by Carolina at "La Pirámide" Winery where we discover the Catena Wine Institute and the family history of pioneers.
Later on we had the fortune to visit the new feature of the family: Angélica Restaurant and the distillery where we tasted the unique Vermouth Vincenzo and the most delicious Grappa. Thanks Dani for showing us around!

Very good wine, the Best winery in 2023!

Very nice experience. The building is unique and impressive. The tour explains the different kind of soils they have in their vineyards and the difference between the different altitudes etc. Leonardo, the guide, also gave a lot of insights on the wines, which tasted very good. Highly recommended

I already visited several wineries arround the world. This winery is the most beautiful I ever visited. There people are very friendly and helpful. If you are a winelover, Catena-Zapata is a MUST.

My wife and I had the most pleasing private tour at Bodega Catena Zapata. Our tour guide, Agostina, was warm, personal, professional, spoke fluent english, and is a professional sommelier. We thoroughly enjoyed the five wines: Catena Alta Chardonnay, Malbec, Cabernet, Catena Zapata Malbec and Nicolas Catena Zapata. Each wine distinguished itself as some of the best of its class, and hats off to the winemaker for the Catena Zapata Malbec and Nicolas Catena Zapata. These two were unforgettable with layers upon layers of complex elements that all blended superbly together. Would love to visit again next time we're in Mendoza.

Our experience today at Catena Zapata was outstanding. Nicholas our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful and obviously very passionate about wines. He answered all of our questions happily and in great depth. His English was excellent. The tour lasted almost 2 1/2 hours and featured the history of Catena, a walk though the barrel room, a description of soil types and the tasting. The tasting was actually an opportunity to do a unique blending of our own using 5 different malbecs. That was a unique experience. All in all the tour was very professionally done.

In Holland, the Catena Malbec, distributed by Gall&Gall, is my favorite red wine. Super soft, perfect flavor at a good price.... and no headache the day after:-)

Now, I wonder, what batches needed cork instead of screw fittings? I know cork is a natural product, but can also infect the wine. New screws also 'ventilate' and let the wine grow while aging!

We went to have a lunch at the new restaurant inside the winery land and loved it ! Delicious food Amazing service . The waiter Rodrigo was outstanding and very accommodating . The food pairing wines unbelievable. Must Go if you are going to visit Mendonza.
