Must do! The view is gorgeous (despite a bit foggy day).Driving is much less fun due to the poor quality of the road and trucks. Well organized. Excellent service. Be aware, they do not operate on Monday's!

Tickets are available in the area. The location is a holder of Guinness World Record. At the other end of the cable Car there is a monastery that is good to visit.

Very modern looking cable car. The view is simply great. It takes around 5 minutes to get to the other side, despite it being almost 6km away.

If you get the timed ticket, it will last one hour, which is enough to explore the monastery and take lots of pictures.

The toilet on the side of the monastery is not free, contrary to the one on the other side.

There's a nice souvenir shop with some nice looking shirts. On the other side, there are several souvenir and snack vendors.

The Wings of Tatev is a 5.7-kilometer (3.5-mile) long cable car system in Armenia that connects the town of Halidzor to the Tatev Monastery. It is the longest reversible ropeway in the world, and offers stunning views of the Vorotan Canyon.

We recently took the Wings of Tatev, and we were blown away by the experience. The cable car is incredibly smooth and quiet, and the views are simply breathtaking. We felt like we were flying over the canyon, and it was an incredibly exhilarating feeling.

The cable car ride takes about 12 minutes, and it's worth every second. Once you reach, you can explore the Tatev Monastery, which is one of the most important cultural and historical sites in Armenia.

It was a breathtakingly amazing ride. My Family and I with cousin's and Friends enjoy the ride to and fro. The ride cost for both ways is very affordable- its like $16 to $18 per person.
You will enjoy the view of the Halidzor village and the snake road below going up to Tatev Monastery.

If you are planning to go to the extreme south of Armenia this is something you should must visit. Wings of Tatev is the longest reversible cableway in the world (5752 m), recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. It is aerially connected to the tatev monastery. The tram ride to Tatev Monastery takes around only 12 minutes, whereas the trip up the steep switchback road would takes around 40 minutes. There is an option for one way and two way ticket to the monastery. Please book the ticket in advance as there is a huge waiting time and save a lot of time. Two way ticket is around 7000 Dram. You can take the return ticket time as per your convenient so that you will get enough time to spend in the monastery. The view is breathtaking. In the whole journey you will be crossing 4-5 mountains and the experience is outstanding. Highly recommended!!!

An experience of a lifetime. Truly blown away by the picturesque views and the whole setup of the cable cars. The views are so breathtaking that you would be left pondering how high you are suspended in air by only a cable. It really felt great and the cloudy/snowy mountains just made our day. I felt that i should pause the car to keep clicking pictures but sometime it's best to just enjoy the view..if you are in Armenia then this is a must try..

I can’t contain the awe I had while ‘flying’ on top of the mountain and admiring the beauty of nature. The ride took 20-25 mins from and to Tatev Monastery. The queue may get long but there’s a lot of cable cars on schedule.

A very organized operation, starting from ticketing to timing and safety. Staff were very supportive and gave us the option of returning by taxi in case we'd like to return after the operating hours. And the views from the cable car over the valley are breathtaking. Glad that we finally were able to experience this activity in Armenia.

Wings of Tatev is a 5.7 km (3.5 mi) cableway between Halidzor and the Tatev monastery in Armenia. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in only one section, and holds the record for Longest non-stop double track cable car. Construction was finished on 16 October 2010.

Wings of Tatev aerial tramway is located in Syunik region, 250 km to the south of Yerevan.

Total ride time from Halidzor station to Tatev monastery is about 12 minutes; a much shorter trip than the 40 minute ride along the steep serpentine road that follows the Vorotan gorge. Flying over the gorge, the aerial tramway cabin reaches its maximum height of 320 meters. When the first cabin reaches the Tatev station, the second one arrives at the Halidzor station. After the Wings are reloaded, the movement starts again in the opposite direction. Each cabin accommodates 30 passengers and one steward. The ropeway can accommodate about 240 passengers per hour. Powerful pillars divide the ropeway into four sections. The longest section is 2.7 km and overlooks the Tatev monastery complex.

Total ride time from Halidzor station to Tatev monastery is around 15 minutes comparing. Before this telepherique, we spent quite 1 hour ride along the steep serpentine road that follows the Vorotan gorge.

Interesting ropeway listed in Guinness book of world records for its longest (5752 m) reversible cable car. While on the jourbey in car you can see beautiful landscapes, historical monestry as well as villages.

Great scenic ride across two walleys, villages, gorges to the Tatev monastery, well worth the money. Flight attendants on board ;-)
