Hovhannes Shiraz House-Museum

A fabulously interesting museum in the centre of Gyumri. Contrary to online information it costs 1,000 dram entrance fee but it is, in my opinion, worth it. Lots to see and photograph and the lovely lady who walks you round offers information and insights into the collection. This eclectic collection consists of furniture, photographs, artifacts such as a desk and accoutrements and art pieces by sons of Shiraz. I wouldn't have missed this for the world. Thank you!

I had a wonderful guide, Nariné Khatchatrian who could combine the story of Shiraz with his poems in a beautiful way. For 45 minutes, I was taken from the present in a time machine to when dnd where Shiraz was and lived with him his life. A must see museum with a must have guide.

Hovhannes Shiraz Home and Museum well worths the visit. Our guide, Ms. Narineh, was a granddaughter of poet Shiraz’s aunt and truly did an amazing job in explaining this famous poet’s life and career, she made it both emotional and funny. This place is a must to visit when in Gyumri.

Amazing place to be, amazing guide, who told many many interesting stories, dedicated a lot of time.
