Preza Castle

Beautiful castle and mosque near to Tirana, in the village of Preza. There is also cafe bar/restaurant. We really liked the place, there is great view from this spot.

Frankly speaking, it is one of the best places to visit in Albania. There is a wee cafe with good food and coffee served here at affordable prices. A must-do just before departure from Tirana Airport, which is basically 15 mins drive from.

I didn't know about this castle until today.

Preza dates back to about 2000 years ago with the construction of the castle.
Preza Castle is a medieval castle. Built in the 15th century. Located on top of the hill northwest of the Preza town, between Tirana and Durrës in central Albania. Currently there are busses going there from Tirana I believe so only by car.

The view is amazing. You see the castle ruins, Mosque, tower and playground. There is also a restaurant with delicious traditional food and a cafe inside the castle.

We stopped here on the way to Dürres after visiting Tirana. You can drive all the way up to the castle, there is a restaurant and bar cafe. The views are incredible and you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Great place to visit on afternoon with beautiful views of the western part of Albania. Early in the morning you can view Kruja and Petrela Castles.

Preza Castle overlooks the village with the same name and is located on a hilltop. It is a small castle the construction of which started in the 14th century and was completed in the early 15th century and belonged to the Thopias, a local feudal family. During 1443-1468 it was one of the core strongholds of the Albanian resistance against the Ottomans led by Skanderbeg.

The castle has been declared a 'monument of culture'. It has four towers, one in each corner. The clock tower was erected around 1800–50. It is known for its beautiful location, overlooking the Tirana plain. The castle is quite close to the Mother Theresa International Airport. A restaurant named Restorant Kalaja E Prezës and other service facilities are found inside the castle.

It is known for its strategic location, overlooking Tirana and opposite Kruja. The castle lies close to Mother Tereza International Airport. It is a small castle, though larger than Petrela. Construction began in the 14th century and was completed in the early 15th century. The castle belonged to the Topias, a local feudal family. The castle has been declared a monument of culture. A restaurant with traditional food and other services are to be found inside the castle. The large green courtyard inside the walls is ideal for picnics and games.

Great castle with free admission and easy parking. The views are really nice and the restaurant at the bottom is a great place to relax.

Very nice for family with children also you have coffee shop the land is quite big, siti relax, quite aerial , there is a mosque for the people who wants to pray also is older building.
The way when you choose to go one this place it is good Road 👍 upon hills. The best thing if you want to look around in this area best time on spring time everything looks green.

Its an historical and amazing place to see. There is a bazaar so you can buy some souvenirs to your family and friends.
