Bulqiza Traditional Guest House/Kulla Hupi

Most amazing place in whole Albania. Very kind owner with an eye for details. Food was the best and always traditional and self-made. Would recommend going here if you love the nature and to see what is the culture really like.

This place is like in a fairytale ✨! Why "kulla Hupi" is unique, because it's authentic and through it you experience Albania 30 years ago to 100 years ago. For lady's that love cooking it's one of my favourite places because you can get involved with the lady's of the house to cooking old recipes. If you pass through this part of Albania is a must visit place. 2 nights would be ideal to experience the real Albanian hospitality and the way that people used to leave and still leaving in rural areas. Lulzim used to work in mining in his city and from mining he has transferred his traditional guest house in too a real gem for his village and his city is well.

The hospitality was great, the owner was a very friendly person and told us about the history of the guest house and every other question we asked. The food and drinks were all homemade and very tasty and fresh. It was a relaxing stay like we were in our own home, the place was really warm and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing stay away from the noise of the big towns.

Wonderful place with a good traditional food and amazing view. Excellent place to spend a weekend with family or friends, and also a great staff member who can't tell you the story of place ! Make sure you visit this place you will enjoy for sure a good time in heart of nature.

I can not believe the hospitality that we got in this place it was the best I ever had. The food was fresh the air was clean at nights the view of the stars it's the most stars I have seen in my life and the view I had in the morning was just mind blowing

The serves it was great. The staff was really sweet and they took care off us really well. The hotel was so cool and it has old traditional things all over the hotel. The food was traditional and it was incredible

Fascinating Old Balkan house which has been beautifully restored by the owner. The garden is also very nice to hang around on a longer stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They would have also let us stay in our campervan on their parking but we decided to take his offer on a very comfortable room, which can be a real pleasure when traveling long time in a Van. Especially the modern Bathroom was a real treat! Traditional dinner and breakfast was also amazing. We would definitely come back for another stay.

One of the most beautiful guesthouses I've ever been to! Surrounded by nature and lovingly restored, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind for a few days, and of course to enjoy the delicious local food prepared on-site. We hope to come back again soon!

Definitely an experience to try! This is not only a traditional guest house, this is a dream come true! We felt welcome by and connected to the owner 🥰 we enjoyed a great service, nice rooms, delicious homemade food, relaxing green surroundings (with direct access to the small river). Everything really authentic and lovely!

Heyyyy we the bikers from Malta. Honestly one of the best places we've been.. sooooo welcoming,clean lovely traditional rooms that seem like you went back in time with all modern facilities. We arrived late at night and the mother prepared food late at night , beers etc... such a sweet lady... thank you for everything... would give 10 stars if we could.. kindest regards Konrad and Andre

Very nice guesthouse run by friendly people. We felt welcome from the moment we got there and had some amazing homemade local food for dinner and breakfast. Would definitely recommend spending some time here to relax in their comfy home and beautiful garden.

Stayed with my wife for one night at the very beginning of May. It was not possible to walk around the neighborhood because of the rain, but I liked the house itself. For us it was an interesting experience. We arrived without prior reservation, but nevertheless we were very welcome. We found a room to spend the night and cooked dinner. The owner and his family are hospitable people. They try very hard to please all guests. The food is delicious. I loved it. Thanks a lot to the women for their efforts. When visiting, you need to take into account some points: the navigator does not lead to the house itself. Some part of the way you will have to follow the signs, keep this in mind. But this was not a problem for us. In addition, those who do not understand what a guest house is, first look on the Internet. This is not a hotel. In the bedroom where we spent the night, there was no heater or stove, so my wife froze. The nights in early May are still cool. But in the common room there is an open fireplace and a stove in which food is also cooked. It was very warm there. On the floor where we lived, the toilet / shower is shared. There is hot water. It is a little unusual that the door to the toilet is located directly from the kitchen. There is a second toilet located on the first floor. We didn't go upstairs. The overall impression of the house is positive. It would be interesting to come back again and spend more time walking in the mountains and getting to know the nature and culture of this hospitable country.
