Please, wear swimsuits and good hiking shoes or adapted for water and slippery stones where you’re gonna walk and also be careful of the small stones which might fall from upper and let yourself free to enjoy the beauty…!!! 😃 totally recommended!!!!!

That was an amazing trip! And it's definitely safe to go there also without any guides.
Don't mind to arrive there hungry because the restaurant there near the entrance to the canyon is worth to visit too 😁. So delicious traditional things they serve and the prices are so nice!!!
Getting deeper into canyon be ready to feel a bit cold and also all the way you are going to walk on the water, the freezing one and so clean 👌, so make sure you have proper shoes, don't go there just with slippers.

Albanian wonders ✨ easy access for cars, free entry, wonderful spots. Just grab your water shoes, a waterproof phone case, some foods/drinks and begin exploring the wild nature. At the entry you will face some termal water where you can dive in and enjoy the warm waters. The Holta stream water is freezing cold but there is not deep at all. We didn't managed to go through the end because we faced a really tight canyon with deep and cold water, i was really excited to go through the end but it will be for another day. Highly recommend this place for all. Not kids friendly area couse of the sharp rocks. Also beware of the falling rocks from the cliff, we witnessed several rocks fall from above. Better to avoid this place during windy days. Best time to explore is in the morning hours 😌 🙃

Holtes Canyon is a fun walk. Make sure to have shoes that are good for walking in water. The water is very cold, and in some places it is waist deep on an adult. A great place to escape the heat of summer.

One of the best places we visited in Albania. We recommend to visit before 10 am before groups arrive. Restaurant with grilled meat at the entrance.

Amazing tour, place with really special atmosphere. We had a lot of fun during our journey. We made 1,5 km and still far away from the end ;)

Gorgeous canyon! Very nice views, great place to visit even with kids (only have to carry them through the entrance).
You can't visit it without wetting your pants (literally) :) Water shoes are strongly recommmended, but we did it with sandals :D
The entrance is the deepest place of that river, during our visit (october) water level was almost to waist. Water ain't freezing, probably because of warm sulphury springs and pools. One of them is right passing the entrance, on the left side. Whole trip can be done in half an hour, but we spent 1.5 hours to fully enjoy it.

P.S. We were in october, and restaurant was closed, so bring your own food supplies :)

One of the best places I visited in the whole of Albania. The canyon can go on for almost 2km, however it will only be accessible during summer. It really is stunning, bring swimmers & something to walk on rocks. It is accessible by car, you can drive right up to the entrance

Very beautiful canion. Is very easy to go there. Just a small car can send you in the entrance of canion, so you have to walk 2 min to ritch th3 canion. You can walk easy for 20 min. After 20 min canion is going yo be very narrow so you have to swim but is just for more adventure, no need to go foe the hard part

The water wasn’t as blue as it seemed in the pictures, but once you enter the canyon, and you look up, the sight is really awesome. The water is cold but you’ll get used to it. I’d definitely advise wearing shoes: water shoes or for more comfort, sneakers are best!
The canyon is free, even parking is free. It may seem busy in the weekends, as the parking may be nearly full but in the canyon it won’t be very busy.
Definitely worth a visit!

Combination of the cold water and the hot springs is what makes the canyon even better. It is a must visit place. The canyon itself is absolutely stunning.
Dont forget to wear your water shoes or sandals because it is gonna be hard for you to walk.

Holta Canyon was created by the erosion of the river Holta. It extends 3 kilometers with surrounding valley slopes of 100-150 meters and with crystalline waters of depths of around 3 meters.
Karst caves created by limestone rocks, stalactites and stalagmites of rare beauty can be found there.
Silence and echoes, lush greenery hanging from the slopes above you and beautiful blue waters caressing your feet and creating small waterfalls along the way.
The canyon is made also special by the numerous thermal springs, blue and crystalline.
The penetration of sunlight into canyon from a hight of 150 m, causes light to collide, refract and scatter in rocks and water, creating inside the canyon a spectacle of colours and a magical atmosphere.
The best time to visit is from spring to the beginning of fall, as during periods of heavy rain the river rises, making it quite difficult to walk until the end of the canyon.

Great walk in a narrow canyon. You only need water shoes.

Don‘t go too late - everything before noon seems to be the best time to have the canyon not fully crowded to explore.

The water that day was quite low and we went as far as we could into the canyon, there were some spots, where the water reached to the middle of the body. It is really cold but it’s worth to go through.

And last thing, I highly recommend to wear any kind of shoes, which makes the little hike into the canyon much easier and more convenient.

Incredible experience. Oustanding beauty of water colors and rock formation. Crystal clear cold waters mix with blueish thermal waters. Inside it is very cold thus it is the perfect escape on a hot summer day. You will find the true meaning of adventure here and will release all your adrenaline. Must go, must see! It is mesmerizing how water and wind have sculptured the rocks through centuries, creating 100-150m high walls of the canion. It feels as if you are visiting another planet!
P.S. Water shoes are mandatory.
