Komani Lake

The lake is amazing! You are transported in a peaceful and beauty land for two hours. At the end you can have some surprises but ... there are part of life :) Enjoy your new adventure!

Spectacular nature. The ferry ride was exhausting during peak season and no AC but the wonders of Drini river and the mountains are from another world.

I thought I am in Ko Phi Phi in Thailand. The boat terminal is hard to reach. Takes about 1-1,5 hour from the main road. The road is in really bad condition, but its really worth it. At the terminal You can take a boat to Shala river. Takes about 1 hour. There You have 3-4 hours of free time and can go back. This place is still not discovered. We meet only Albanians. Nice to see before mass tourism will discover this place.

Must visit in Albania. I recommend the day Tour from saranda. The Road to the ferry terminal is very Rocky with alot of holes. So If you consider driving There: be careful.

Amazing nature! Very beautiful views even on a cloudy day. The ferry is nice, it has a indoor area for colder days and toilets. Must visit when in Albania.

We went to a kayak tour by Berisha and it was beautiful. Lunch for 12€/person was excellent.

Amazing place, breathtaking views, nature lovers must see it. Green views all the way. I wanted to swim once I arrived to the island but the water was so cold 🥶 😁. Perfect photo shoots can be taken there, so I did 😍. They call it (Albanian Thailand) and yes, who’ve been before to Phuket, will relate ♥. Highly recommended 💙

It's one of a kind ferry trip you'll do! As the ferry sails through the calm green waters the spectacle that mountains on bith sides provide is second to none. Sometimes it may seem to you that there's now where to go as the mountain just ahead of you has blocked the way and it may seem as you've reached your stop, but no, not at all. Your port is on the open at Koman side, just close to hydropower gorge and on Fierza side the "docks" can be spotted from a 100m away. Pay close attention to the remote villages and houses as you pas by them, most of the times they are up in the mountains and almost never close to water surfaces.

Lake Koman (Albanian: Liqeni i Komanit) is a reservoir on the Drin River in northern Albania. Lake Koman is surrounded by dense forested hills, vertical slopes, deep gorges, and a narrow valley, completely taken up by the river. Besides the Drin, it is fed by the Shala and Valbona Rivers. The lake stretches in an area of 34 km2 (13 sq mi), its width being 400 m (0.25 mi). The narrowest gorge, which is surrounded by vertical canyon walls, is more than 50 m (0.031 mi) wide. The reservoir was constructed between 1979 and 1988 near the village of Koman with a height of 115 m (377 ft

Truly my favourite boat journey ever. An eye opening experience and insight in to the daily lives of the local villagers. Watching various taxi boats darting around the river shores, dropping people off along the way.

I went there in August the weather back then was 36 C however the water temp was very cold nearly 5 or 6 C degrees so it was a very unique feeling to swim there and experience contrast where your body is freezing but you face is being burnt by the sun. Definitely worse the visit.
