Portik Hotel

Portik hotel at Berat in Albania have exceeded my expectations from location, room, cleanliness, and staff which make my stay very special.

Room & Bathroom:
I was surprised of the room size once I entered, which was big and very comfortable to move around. Every was clean and kept in a good condition. Bed was comfy and I had a good sleep. The room view was on the city facing the beautiful Berat houses on the mountain. Not to forget the washroom which was nice as well and clean.

Location & Services:
The location of the hotel was perfect because it is easy to find and in the middle of the city which makes reaching most attractions by walking. Under the hotel they have a huge supermarket and parking area as well. There is cafe and restaurant on the roof of the hotel, they have good options of food and of course with amazing view of the city.

Overall Experience:
If I ever visit Berat again in the future, Portik hotel will be my only choice since I had a great stay.

We spent three nights at the Portik Hotel in July 2023. We had a large double room and a single for my son. The rooms were fantastic. Large, brand new, comfy beds and high quality fittings throughout. Amongst the best we've seen. The breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was also good, with spectacular views. The service was also exceptional. A really comfortable place to stay and the perfect location from which to explore Berat. We'll be back. Thank you team Portik!

Great hotel with a beautiful view of Historic Berat😊. I'm Albanian who lives in the US, so I'm very framilier with what most Albanian hotels are like in comparison to overseas. Though it doesn't have the charm of a boutique hotel , I much rather prefer amenities and comfort . It's by far the most modern and clean one I've been too. I really enjoyed the shower and room service . It's nice to get an espresso delivered to your room too. I'm too lazy to always go downstairs to get it as I'm really not a morning person and I need time to myself in the morning.That was lovely. Thank you guys!

Super nice rooms and great location. The old town is very walkable from here. Parking is very easy. There is also a supermarket in the hotel and the restaurant in the hotel has an unbelievable view of Berat.

I loved this hotel. I cannot fathom why the current rating is not higher. This was, hands down, the best hotel we had stayed in after being in Albania for over a month. In fact, after staying in this hotel, my husband and I got better and figuring out what to look for in order to get a decent hotel experience.

The breakfast was the best we have had. There was cereal, pastries, fresh fruit, meat, cheese, bread, etc. The staff was even on hand to make fresh omelets. It exceeded our needs and our expectations. When booking, we saw some complain about the breakfast. My husband and I cannot imagine what there would be to complain about. Even the setting--on the rooftop with a great view--added to the experience.

The whole place, including the room, is impeccably clean. This was so refreshing after being in other--higher rated hotels--that were dingy. This place even had a supremely comfortable mattress, high-end linens, and lush towels. Everything was very modern.

The bathroom was amazing. Again, after spending over a month in Albania, this was the FIRST place we had stayed that had a bathroom that didn't smell like sewage and had a shower that one could actually move in. At these discoveries, I was ready to move into this hotel and stay forever. You don't realize how terrible smelling sewage is day after day until you finally get a place that doesn't smell. Rather, Portik--like many high-end hotels in Europe--piped in their own signature scent, which I loved. And as I mentioned, the shower was luxuriously large. I could move, spin, shave my legs without getting waterboarded, wash my curly hair without cramping my arms. It was amazing.

The location is solid: within walking distance of the castle, old town, and river promenade where all the restaurants/bars are. Plus, there's a grocery store on the ground level where one can stock up on supplies or buy a bottle of wine.

The staff was also professional, communicative, and gracious, and it was SUPER convenient having a covered, secured garage for parking. Portik Hotel deserves a 5-star rating. I don't know where the others who've given it anything less have been staying in Albania, because there are few places this nice in the country.

Perfect for a drink after dinner. We went there at the opening without knowing it. We haven't been convinced with the menu but we came after dinner for a last drink and it was very nice: comfortable seats, lounge-electro music, good service... still needs some finishing but this modern place contrasts with the rest of the traditional places. Do not go there if you're looking for authentic places.

An exquisite, beautiful and comfortable new hotel at the highest level. Rooms comfortable, clean, large. The restaurant controls dishes fresh and delicious. The staff is a young team - open and friendly.

Best Hotel in Berat! Simple modern interior, spacious rooms, very clean, friendly staff and a fantastic rooftop restaurant & bar.
