Gemma's Cafe & Grill

A true oasis! Lovely café with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. You sit on a terrace of an historic little house that has been hosting local people for over 900years. The owners are very friendly and easy going. We really enjoyed the conversation along in the cooling shades and appreciated the nice variety of refreshing beverages. This place makes you wanna stay longer and come back!

This place is so sweet. It is owned by a very sweet couple that cook amazing dishes. It is so cozy and so traditional at the same time. Finding american food in the heart of the old city of Berat is a gem and such a cool idea to bring more life to this city.

Wonderful people and lovely location. Alma and Edmund made our stay very special. Most warm welcoming service. Definitely worth a visit off the beaten touristic path in Berat.

Gemma's Cafe is truely a gem in the old town of mangalem. It is right next to the ethnographic museum and if you visit the museum you should also visit the cafe.

They serve simple but really tasty food. You can eat sandwiches and you should really go for the house salad. All their products are biological and you can taste that. Its a perfect place for having a lunch. Also try the traditional coffee!

The owners are remarkably friendly and their hospitality is even special in the friendly country of albania. You can chat with them and they try to give you the best time you can have. They even showed us the house which was beautiful and also really interesting.

So if youre around here go there and enjoy this lovely and heartwarming place.

Lovely stop for food and a rest. The food was simple and delicious (we had byrek and a Greek salad) and our hosts were great. Definitely try the coffee!

I went here for a late lunch and loved the grilled chicken & salad. The best part though were the lovely owners. I sat alone to eat and had a great time eating and chatting, and learning about the 900 year old building that hosts the restaurant. If you're walking to the castle, this is definitely worth a stop!

I loved this place. The owners were so friendly and welcoming that I felt like home. As I cannot eat gluten, they prepared something different for me so I could have lunch.
Alma also helped me to get back something I lost in Berat. Really appreciate her kindness.

Cuina casolana amb un tracte molt proper.

Gemma y su marido encantadores. Paseabamos por Berat y encontramos el sitio de casualidad. Una casa patrimonio de la humanidad que han convertido en un café /bar.
Además hablan español e inglés, un sitio maravilloso para sumergirse en la cultura albanesa.

Cerca del Museo Etnológico hemos parado a tomar una cerveza en el Gemma's Cafe. Hemos pasado un rato muy agradable con los dueños. Alma y su marido son encantadores. Hablan español e inglés
