Hurts Donut Company

So my son-in-law who knows I'm a donut lover stopped by here to get us some donuts. He said they were unique and he wasn't kidding. Can't give a 5 stars yet because I haven't had a chance to eat one yet but if they taste as amazing as they look I'm sure I will be able to adjust that. Such a unique donut store and the lady working was very friendly. I think their Emergency Donut Vehicle is awesome... Oh and to top it off it's directly in front of a police station lol.... Awesome!

Update... They definitely tasted as good as they looked!

My husband and I went here to try these famous donuts. We ordered the Homer (a beautiful fluffy donut with semi sweet bright pink frosting with sprinkles), the maple bacon me crazy (a long john with maple frosting and a generous amount of bacon), and a pink lemonade donut (a frosted cake donut with lemon curd and strawberry jam in the middle).
When we received our donuts, I excitedly opened the box to disappointedly find that the Homer had fallen frosting down on the maple bacon. I was very surprised to find that the Homer is much more delicious with bits of bacon stuck into it. Please consider putting bacon into the Homer, as it paired SO WELL. Consider it.

The person who attended was super cool because they didn't have the donut we wanted and she went to make it.
They have so many donuts that you don't know which one to choose because they have so many flavors.
I loved the place.

Absolutely lovely place with vast amounts of donuts that will appeal to many taste buds. The service here is very attentive and wonderful. On top of that, this place is actually a great place to study and do homework if you're needing somewhere away late at night.

Oreo Cheesecake Doughnut: Hurts Donut Co. has multiple locations primarily throughout the Midwest. One such location happens to be near the campus of my alma mater UW-Madison. Before a long day of hiking and exploring my old haunts I figured I would load up on some carbs for breakfast. The Oreo Cheesecake Doughnut is a raised/yeast doughnut with vanilla icing, graham cracker crumbles, and a center jam packed with cream cheese frosting and Oreos. This is one of the best doughnuts I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of doughnuts). The dough was fresh, soft, buttery, and perfectly chewy. I wasn't sure what to make of the frosting in the center before tasting it because I wasn't sure if it would be Oreo filling flavored, cream cheese, or something else. As I already mentioned it ended up being cream cheese (it may have even been actual cheesecake) and it was a phenomenal touch. Between the beautiful fall colors, pre-hike pain killer, and all the sugar running through my system I had quite a euphoric experience. Doughboy approved.
*My only complaint is that a lot of their specialty doughnuts are only available in cake and not yeast/raised, but there is still a fair selection of both styles

Cookie Monster: The “Cookie Monster” doughnut is a raised/yeast doughnut decorated with beautiful blue icing, Oreo crumbles, and eyes made of sugary candy. No matter how much you dress up a doughnut it needs to start with a solid foundation and this one does. The dough was fresh, soft, buttery, and perfectly chewy. I strongly prefer vanilla to chocolate icing and lucky for me the fancy blue icing is a deceitful vanilla flavor. It’s not a very revolutionary doughnut, but between the fantastic dough and lovely blue icing it earns itself a Doughboy approved rating. I can’t wait for my next visit (their giant cinnamon rolls are on my radar now).

The creativity and artistic skill and design is what makes this donut company unique. The donuts themselves aren’t bad but it’s the look of the donut that you find yourself remembering and telling people about it. We had a box of Halloween decor donuts and they were both hilarious and impressive.

Amazingly fun and delicious donuts! Especially a fan of the gourmet cake donuts, such as White and Nerdy', Jesús, or Pink Lemonade. There is always a line, but it moves quickly and is worth the wait.

Amazing!!!! Omg I have found heaven and I will gladly drive the 80 miles to sink my teeth into the best doughnuts EVER. and their truck is cute too.

Oh. My. Word. Go here. Now! So many creative donuts and new twists on the classics. Delicious!! Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Gotta love the selection! Staff always have good recommendations if you’re not sure what to pick. A little bit pricey but worth every tasty calorie! Hurts is a must stop for me whenever I am on that side of town.

Stopped here on the way to a Badgers game recently. The selection is extensive, and the donuts are large. A little on the pricey side (~$2 each) but great for a treat every once in awhile. You won't be disappointed!

Favorite place to refuel after hiking the area trails and seeing the sites. Staff is always fun and helpful, and the donuts are amazing (and have awesome names!)

We went in the afternoon on a Saturday and it wasn't very busy but they seemed to have all the types of donuts still available. Workers were nice, store was clean. Donuts were very good but huge and super sweet!

Stopped in this morning before an appointment. It was our first time so it took us quite a bit to decide. They had a wide variety of different flavors. They even have the donuts segregated by yeast and cake donuts. Obviously they are super sugary... any donut that has cereal on top is definitely pack full of diabetes 😉. Seriously though, the fritters are the size of a dinner plate and totally scrumptious! The prices are fair for the quality of the donuts. I think we paid $16.50 for a “Dirty Dozen” and $3.50 for the massive fritter.

The only thing else I can say “I’ll be back...”-Terminator.

Aside from the gimmicks (open 25/8, wildly decorated donuts) Hurts has some pretty legit donut offerings. The streusel donuts (blueberry) is really good! I tend to shy away from the ones with the highly decorated tops, but even the cookie and s'more donuts were top notch.

OMG! Amazing!!!! So tasty, fresh and cute! Service is fast and friendly too! And check out the bathroom doors!

Pricey but fun! My favorite donut is the chocolate cake donut with peanut butter cups. 🍩 My husband loves the coconut cream pie. My dog loves the smell of donuts in the air.

Wide variety of donuts, very tasty too! They're huge, so be forewarned to not stroll in after a meal. They also have drinks on the menu, along with long johns.

I needed a couple of dozen doughnuts for the office and was in a hurry. They have preboxed items ready to go that looked and tasted awesome. Fast and friendly service!
