Willy Street Co-op—West

I like stopping at Wily Street when I visit the Madison area. They have a great variety of foods and other goods. I most frequently shop their supplements, personal care & snacks, but I have checked out their produce & other groceries aisles. Finding their bee bars was a nostalgic treat, as my own co-op (New Pioneer Co-op, Iowa City) used to make something similar.

Favorite grocery store for dietary restrictions! They always have non-dairy and vegan options as well as ethically sourced meat and produce. Decent selection for candles, skincare, and vitamins as well, although some of their "health" items are a waste of time and money. It's about what you would expect at any health foods store, just watch out for dubious medical claims on some of their products. The co-op itself is great.

In our travels we love to stop at co-ops. Kristy is a member of one in Santa Monica, CA. This store was well thought out and everything we needed and more. Nice friendly staff. They had a water machine as well. We mark Willy's on our favorite list.

Friendly staff, great selection of produce and grocery. A lot of stuff available in bulk and is great for folks who may want to make more environmentally friendly choices.

They are great for organic food and vegetables and offer discounts for joining them and as far as I know to be a member still only costs 10 dollars.

Always a delight and encouragement to be here. No self service items for now, for infection control. So bulk items, sales bar are shrouded in plastic. Deli is open, but you have to stand three feet back. (See the blue line on the floor).

Wonderful grocery store with a delicious hot bar. It also has several gift items and a delightful wine selection.

Picked up some of the waygu ribeyes. Delicious at a great price. Would highly recommend!

A mini WholeFoods without the hustle and bustle. Friendly staff. Self serve honey dispensary! Impressive. Also happy they carry a wider selection of Jackson's Honest chips.

Great gem in Madison/Middleton. Lots of local, huge bulk section, fresh produce and everything in between. Membership was inexpensive and you are always welcome to shop without if you are not inclined to become an owner.

Willy Street West is my favorite grocery store in the Madison area, and what convinced me to join the co-op as a member. Without a doubt it has the best produce, meat counter and customer service of any grocery store in town. It isn't a traditional grocery store, so some things you won't find here, like Coke/Pepsi, or much in the way of paper products and cleaning supplies beyond a few token green items. So be aware of that. Since the expansion Willy West also has a very nice liquor department with a great selection of local spirits and quite a few local beers and ciders.

The Co op is the best place in town for organic veggies in winter, the only place I know that sells whole Bell & Evans poultry, they have a killer cheese case, and a great selection of bulk grains and legumes, as well as lovely premade and alcohol options at all locations. The service is great, and the fish and meat counters are always sparkling clean. Prices are what you'd expect, which is why I do my "can't get anywhere else" shopping here, but not everyday shopping.

The produce is especially great and shopping focused in a small healthy selection so smarter and healthier experience every time w less impulse buys.

Love this location. So many great vegetarian and vegan choices too. Friendly staff and clean store. Terrific deli and baked goods section.
