We wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the support and care Gunderson Funeral Home Middleton (GFH) provided during the recent loss of my mother in-law Kay Peterson. Your director’s and staff’s attention to detail, and compassion throughout the planning and execution of the funeral service, was truly appreciated.

From the initial consultation to the final goodbye, your director and staff helped guide our family through the difficult process with grace and understanding. Their professionalism and kindness will never be forgotten.

My mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly, and they arranged a wonderful private viewing for family members to say their final goodbyes before her cremation. This helped remind us of what a graceful, beautiful and generous person she was.

Christina and her team worked with us to schedule a visitation and memorial service one month later, as it fit with what our family needed for flights and work schedules. Everyone in our family was able to attend the funeral. It was really a beautiful service.

Thank you again for all of your unwavering dedication and for helping us honor the memory of our loved one. We truly appreciate everything you did for us. I will strongly recommend you to others.

Gunderson were very professional and supportive in handling my mother’s cremation, visitation and memorial service (with buffet afterwards). They held our hands along the way, helping us with each step of the process. Everything occurred without a hitch, which is exactly what you want. I highly recommend them to those looking for cremation and funeral home services.

I thought we are only having a cremation and a small get together later, why do I need to go through a funeral home? I was surprised and pleased at how much going through Gunderson helped our family. They kept us on deadline with the obituary and helped with the writing editing and the interface with the newspaper.even though we our little celebration was not at Gunderson they helped us understand what we needed to do to make it work and photocopied extra stuff for us. Our printing person and coordinator were there for us right through the end of the service. I am surprised but I would say the benefit of going with gunderson outweighed the cost, at least for our family

The folks at Gunderson Funeral Home made a difficult time a little more bearable. We used them for funerals for both parents, and both times were treated with respect and care. I felt comfortable sharing our story and our wishes for a funeral that would serve both our deceased parents as well as those left to live on. They made it possible for a few smiles along with the tears. Dani at the Middleton office was sincere and listened to our needs including her recommendation for a minister who really came through for us. Gunderson Funeral and Cremation was amazing in handling the funeral of my father. They took care of every detail with thoughtfulness and compassion. Tad, our funeral director, reached out several times to check on my mother and to make sure we always knew they had everything taken care of…which they did! There aren’t enough words to describe what it meant to have the wonderful people at Gunderson caring and supporting us through one of the most difficult days in life.

Gunderson Funeral went above and beyond in the preparation and care of my dad's remains. My brother and I are grateful we were able to work with such a great group of individuals.

The Funeral Director, Dan Dederich, expertly guided us through the whole process, options, and fees prior to our dad's passing and seamless handled the documentation and logistics after his passing. It was a huge relief to have everything planned out and well taken care of, especially when dealing with the loss of a loved one.

When we went to collect our dad's urn, the Gunderson staff had it beautifully displayed in a private showing room for us to have some time before taking it home. A few weeks later, Inez, a wonderful staff member, touched base to let us know they were thinking of us and were there if needed.

Everyone has been wonderful and comforting through it all. We will be forever appreciative of all the considerate and thoughtfulness displayed by everyone at Gunderson.

In the most difficult of times while deciding on final arrangements after the loss of our loving Mother, Gunderson Funeral Services were a comforting partner in honoring the life of our loved one and in the months following the service have provided the caring support reflective of family. The staff of Gunderson’s have earned my gratitude for their sincere care and support.

The staff at Gunderson in Middleton were wonderful to work with. When you’ve lost a loved one, you want people to empathize with you and guide you through the process of planning how to celebrate your loved one’s life. The staff is experienced, professional, respectful, and made the process “easy”. If you are faced with such a loss, I would recommend putting your trust in Gunderson.

Recently, my dear 97 year old mom passed away, after a long struggle with Dementia. Being an only child, I was responsible for her care taking, managing her finances, her home, making health decisions, and of course, her funeral arrangements.
By the time of my mom’s death, I was extremely burned out and decision making was difficult.
Stephaphie, at Gunderson in Middleton was kind, competent, understanding and extremely helpful. She provided direction, but allowed me to chose exactly how both my mom and I wanted things.
Due to Covid rates being extremely high at that time, mom’s wishes had to be down sized quite a bit. Stephanie was sensitive to my wishes and did not push for more elaborate plans. She was wonderful to work with, and I will always feel gratitude.
Having been sick for so long, my once perfectly groomed, beautiful mom, looked nothing like herself. Despite that she had wanted a traditional, open casket viewing, my daughter and I were very doubtful. But, somehow, the cosmetologists at Gunderson did a beautiful job-she looked natural and much more like her old self. We did end up choosing an open casket and viewing.
Mom had to be transported to Brookfield for burial. The funeral directors who escorted her were prompt, compassionate, courteous, asking my daughter and I before making any decisions, also being kind and sensitive to our needs!
We have used Gunderson in the past and have had positive experiences, as well. I strongly recommend them.

John Jacobson and so many of the other staff at Gunderson in Middleton and Stoughton made the experience of planning for my mom's cremation, funeral, and burial as comforting and as easy an experience as it could be starting on the day after her passing. They made sure that we were able to do everything that mom wanted and made it possible for me to do what I wanted to do as well. I can't imagine a better experience in the midst of such a difficult time and highly recommend Gunderson Funeral and Cremation Care.

The whole process was done with the care and attention to detail that everyone hopes they get when a loved one passes. Our director Brady was phenomenal, and we gave our dad the memorial he deserved mainly due to how fantastic the people at Gunderson are. I cannot recommend Gunderson enough. In the mental fog after a recent death in the family, we were grateful to have the staff at Gunderson Funeral Home to help us deal with the process. Everyone we met at Gunderson was extremely kind and caring and very professional, particularly Mike Smits. We met with Mike the day after the death and he sensitively lead us through planning a funeral with the challenges and limitations due to Covid 19. He helped with the obituary and memorial details. Even though we were unable to have a church service, Mike helped us plan a small service at Gunderson with only close family members. His attention to detail resulted in a beautiful and meaningful service. The entire service was video taped for those who couldn’t be with us. Mike executed all the details so we didn’t have to worry about anything. It was such a relief during a difficult time. After the service he continued to handle any questions we had. He called to see how we were feeling and provided helpful resources on grieving. Excellent service from beginning to end!

All of your associates were very knowledgeable, professional and willing to help us through this difficult time. To put it all in perspective, you treated us as if we were family. You go above and beyond to make sure everything is done to it's best.

Gunderson Funeral Home was wonderful to our family when my elderly mother passed away. Especially Sierra Miello, who was such a comfort to me in a very difficult time. She helped me prepare for the funeral and was empathetic throughout the whole process. They provided a separate viewing for family members to say our last goodbyes and it was just a beautifully prepared event. Gunderson funeral home stepped up last minute to take care of my mother and her transport to the UW medical school’s body donation program after she passed away at home. We contacted them on very short notice after we were given the wrong information about how to take care of my mom’s wishes. They came right away and were amazing in their care and transport.
