Susan Homestay

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Susan's. The place is wonderful, surrounded by all kinds of plants, including rice fields.

She has build a small number of chambers with airconditioning and a shower. She lives there with her parents and her little daughter.

We went cycling, visited a temple, got explanations, went to the market place and helped her with cooking, using products fresh from the fields. In the morning we went to the floating market and various places.

Travelling from and to Ho Chi Min city took about 4 hours by minibus, sleeping coach and taxi. Well worth the time.

Did the 2 day/1 night tour and had a wonderful time at Susan‘s she and her family are so lovely! She helped with our further travel bookings and speaks really good English. The food was delicious and the program was amazing (bike tour, local market, sunset, cooking, floating market, boat tour, rice noodle factory, cocoa farm and a lot of exotic fruits on the way). Big recommendation, would do it again!

My girlfriend and me booked the 3 days/2 nights tour with Susan and we loved it! Very complete tour, history, food, farm visits, pagodas… you’ll see the Mekong delta from a wide angle. We tried a wide variety of local foods throughout the days and had very rich delicious meals. Susan and her family are lovely and will make you feel welcomed and at home.
If you have a chance of booking a tour you should definitely come!

I just finished a 2 days/1 night tour in the Mekong delta with Susan. The experience was amazing.
Susan's house is in a non-touristic place in the countryside, in the middle of the rice fields.
Susan is really nice and give you a lot of information.
Activities were great (cycling around the country side, going to the market, cooking, experiencing the floating market, tasting a lot of local food, etc.)

Highlight of our trip to Vietnam. We loved the Homestay with Susan and meeting her family. Her brother Nick took us around the first day and was an excellent tour guide. We made dinner with Susan (phenomenal!) and the next day visited the floating market and other mini tours. It was an incredible experience.

Susan was a wonderful host, from guiding us around the village to teaching us some traditional meals. She was very accommodating and even let us add on a last minute afternoon tour! Jam packed full of local hot spots, you don't wanna miss out on this homestay!

Authentic experience in Mekong Delta. Susan and his brother Nick are the super host you don't want to miss! Well organised, super funny and relaxing.
First day we went for a bike ride with nick and we bought at the local market the ingredients for our dinner, which we cooked with Susan. The day after we did a boat tour with breakfast at the floating market. Super! 10/10 would recommend.

Lovely homestay and perfect tour 2d/1n. We found Susan from recommedation on FB and we did not regret. We enjoyed every moment in house, on tours. Susan is polite and lovely lady and her brother Nick is also very polite man. Always smiling.

If you go fishing at the "Dong Thanh Cultural Center" location, follow that path. then be careful. Today, while I was walking on that road, a family beat me and stole my fishing rod. But I called the police and everything was resolved. People here are too greedy and violent

We booked a tour with them and since the first moment I contacted them by phone they were super helpful. The tour was very nice, Nick picked us up, we visited the floating market, we had breakfast, we ate pineapple, drank chocolate,visited the rice noodle factory etc pff a very pleasant experience!

The room are simple but well equipped the two day tours and interesting and fun
Day one bicycle, local market and cooking was done in a fun and joyful environment even tough the cake was hard to make ( but worth it in the end)
Day two, the various workshop / factories are interesting and the visit is just in the perfect mixture between engaging and not to long or to detailed.
Very good and fun overall highly recommend

Don't hesitate to ask Susan or Nick for more water during the bicycle or the visit they will find you quick some :) !

Incredible 3 day & 2 night homestay and tours with Susan and her family. Fantastic food and local experiences. Absolutely loved it!!

Did just a mekong tour with Susan, and her brother Nick. It was so much fun. First day is a really nice lunch then bike ride thru the local area, including a Khmer temple. Ride is super easy. Then to the market to buy food for dinner and cook dinner together. Next day is floating markets and a few other places along the mekong. Accommodation is great at her place. Aircon, fans, cold beer. We are a group of 8 people and we just had an amazing three days with Susan !! Floating market, local food, cooking class, local market, karaoke and more…. it s the best way to discover this beautiful city. And we had the opportunity to meet her parents and pretty (hangry) daughter, and now we also feel like we r part of the family ! Susan offers the perfect tour, far away from the Mekong Delta mass tourism. Her homestay is the perfect getaway and you get to enjoy dinner which you’ve cooked yourself. Highly recommended!

We were the first foreigners after covid crisis and reopen of the boarders. All good comments from 2 years ago are still valid. We really enjoyed our tour with a special mention to the cacao farm. Then we shared a amazing experience by cooking Vietnamese food with Susan, her mother and her daugther. I highly recommend this experience it is authentic, fun and valuable on Mekong delta area.

Susan's homestay is a MUST if you want to have a full experience on the Mekong Delta! She is super nice and very kind. She help us to get from Ho Chi Minh city and she organized for us two amazing day, bringing us to discover little aspects of everyday life of the people living on the river. Staying at her parents house you can enjoy a relaxing patio with hammock, eating fresh fruit and playing with her cat. At evening you will help her to cook dinner with the products that you bought at the market with her. The second day the floating market experience and the rest of the tour was just amazing! Thank you very much Susan and if we'll be back to Vietnam we'll see you again!

Susan's homestay has been a fantastic start to our visit to Vietnam. Her family's hospitality is unlike anything we have experienced in our travels. It has been absolutely wonderful seeing real life instead of a tourist show. Genuine experiences like her tour are hard to find and we are so glad we found her. Our time together felt like visiting family and there was never any pressure to spend money. Just glimpses into real lives and lots of freindly locals eager to practice their english. It has been a wonderful travel experience!

A really fantastic choice for visiting the Mekong Delta. Susan provides great insight into the area and agriculture practices and is was also very patient for me to take pictures. The food options where great and especially the dinner cooking together with her family at their beautiful farm made this a very special & authentic trip for us.
