Primrose Homestay Cao Bang

I've stayed there for a couple of nights on and off, and the owner was extremely helpful and super nice! Even sewed some of my teared up clothing after i gave them for laundry (without me even asking, she just did!)
Rooms are very clean and totally worth the money
The owner helped me plan my trip and rented me a bike for a good price per day when compared to other places
When i was about to leave Cao Bang, she helped me book a bus to my next destination, and her husband even gave me a ride to the bus station free of charge

My brother and I spent 3 days staying here and had a great experience! The owners are so lovely, we arrived 5am in the morning with no bookings and they happily got up to provide us a room. We didn't know much of where to explore around so they helped us plan our few days and gave us all the tips of where to explore.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a very welcoming and homely place to stay.

Heartwarming hosts who make you feel at home! They took really good care of us and showed us a lot of interesting local ‘must-see’ tips. Central location (and a very good vegan restaurant next door!), close to lots of shops. They offer clean rooms, motorbike rental and laundry service. All for decent prices. We stayed for 5 nights and would definetly stay here again. 10/10 ✨

The owners are very welcoming and accommodating. They gave us advice for planning our motorcycle loops. We were also able to rent our motorbikes at the guesthouse

This is one of the best homestays I stayed at on my northeastern loop. I ended up staying two days.

This place is central enough to walk most places, good breakfast Banh Mi, ATMs, restaurants and more nearby.

Did washing there as well which came back without strong chemical smells and was cheap.

Room was only 250k per night for a private room with private ensuite, great base to do nearby activities or rest up for a day off the bike when touring.

Host was friendly and helped with some hints on local attractions etc.

Lovely homestay. Perfectly located in the city center. Clean and pretty double room where you feel at home. The room has everything you need and more (toothbrush/paste/showergel/hairdryer/towls/water heater/air conditioner/water etc). The host is great with recommendations where to go and what to do. Perfect with helping to organize easy cheap bus transfers. And whenever we did not understand each other in English, she drew perfect little pictures as explanations. Loved it here❤

This is an honest review, I arrived at caobang at 5 am for transit before going to ban gioc waterfall. I didn't book anything, I just went straight to this hostel, the owner greeted me outside the hostel. Eventhough there's no room available, the owner allow me to rest in the common area and took shower. The owner also took me to the bus stop and waited until I hop on the right bus to go to waterfall. Excellent hospitality, hoping the best for your business

A very warm and caring homestay in Cao Bằng!

So me and my boyfriend had an accident in the mountains and had to come back to Cao Bang city to go to the hospital. We stayed at Primrose for just one night, but the amount of care we received from the owner was immense. She was really kind to us, helping us bringing the luggages, driving my boyfriend to the restaurant etc. She worked in the medical field before so she could give us really good and scientific advices about the antibiotics and the wounds

The house is located right in the center of Cao Bang city, right next to some good food places and the Cao Bang market

Definitely gonna stay in this homestay again if we ever come back to Cao Bang

Perfect.
Quiet, clean, all the facilities you need and working perfectly fine.
She really took care of everything here and takes a lot of effort to make your stay as comfy as possible while staying affordable.
There’s even a little booklet with good addresses to find your way around town (not the typical tourism spots but mostly actual good local things)

This place was the best! Wonderful service, incredibly nice, helped me when I was sick and bought me medicines and water constantly! Such a strong positive energy and atmosphere of kindness.

I spent 2 nights in here. Very nice experience! Hosts were very kind and helpful. Rooms were clean and there was a common kitchen to use. The hosts even helped me with my motorbike when I got a flat tire :) 100% recommendation.

I travel full time, it’s my job, and Primrose hostel is a hostel I will remember for a long time, I never write reviews but here I felt I had to make an exception, the owner of this hostel is a perfectionist that cares about detail, to the point where I feel they have created a textbook example of a perfect hostel service, details that I noted:
- Very clean
- Very well priced
- Hostel is centrally located
- Working/Silent Aircon with remote
- The owner was very helpful but kept her distance (Very good, and helpful but not too much!)
- Safe parking for a motorcycle inside the lobby!
- A high-pressure shower that can be very hot if required
- The room was silent at night
- Fire extinguisher present
- A booklet with local restaurants/shops/services
- Hair Drier in the room + hairbrush
- Kettle in the room
- Big Soap (much nicer than smaller ones)
- Shampoo and skin products in small packets
- Cleaning products in the bathroom if needed
- Thick high quality toilet paper!
- Drinkable water jugs in the room!
- 2 plugs for every bed
- They also had a kitchen that I didn’t use, that can also be used as a common room

The only room for improvement I can see, but here I am comparing this hostel to a 5-star hotel in western Europe is:
- Smoke detectors? (Never seen one in Asia though)
- Shampoo/Body Wash in big bottles (to make it more eco-friendly)

Lovely homestay. The host were so wonderful to us. They are kind and humble. We happen to reach on the first day of Tèt and we were welcomed us with delicious homemade sweet, rice wine followed by dinner. We were vegetarian so the hostess managed to cook veg meal for us. She was so sweet and considerate. Since it was a new year dinner, they didn't charge us. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Hot shower and air conditioner is available. They have toilettre and hair dryer as well. So incase you forgot to carry it, you have nothing to worry about. The location is at the center. Once you step out of the property and walk for a bit, you hit the main street. Totally recommend this property!!

Stayed here for six weeks in the midst of covid whilst on a motorbike trip through Vietnam.

Definitely take a peek at the guide book provided, I found some great spots to eat in there - specifically the phố xưa (?) around the corner and a place for Ap Chao (delicious fried dumpling filled with duck!)

The rooms are clean and well-decorated.

Highly recommended if you’re in Cao Bang, be it one night or a week!

The hosts here were so wonderful to us ! The homestay was very clean and comfortable. The location of the homestay was great. The walking street is around the corner and there were so many fun activities, awesome grilled food and drinks along the road. The bus station is nearby as well.

I really enjoyed my stay in Primrose.
The owner is very helpful and you feel at home from the moment you walk in to her homestay. Would definitely recommend to stay here! Warm greetings Pieter
