Freaking loved my experience here. I got a pair of bondi 8 all black leather shoes for a mail carrier position. They ended up hurting my foot because they didn't bend properly. They looked up my account by my phone number saw that I was a loyal customer and they exchanged my shoes for me no problem. It was really a blessing because hoka's are not cheap. Thank you!

Amazing staff! So knowledgeable and friendly. I was fitted for shoes to train for my marathon, with Achilles pain. The entire store was wonderful, joking and sharing stories with me while we found 2 pairs of perfect shoes. The tread and gate analysis was perfect for finding the right pairs. I will be back!

The absolute best place to get fitted for shoes as well as pick up other running-related accessories. One of my favorite shopping experiences in the area.

I went to Potomac Running after my chiropractor recommended to buy shoes from here. I was quite skeptical but went there.
What a wonderful experience! The reps were simply wonderful. They helped, reviewed what was needed and help me make a decision.
I thought I will only come when Dan was there, but every time I went, each rep was as wonderful! Since then I have taken my daughter, my son there! Best service ever and they take care of your feet! Worth the investment of buying shoes that make your life easy!

I was only able to get 1 pair of inserts for my running shoes at the Reston location, so they called a hold order into the location at One Loudoun in Ashburn. I felt a bit bad as that is the store that is close to home and I should have checked there first. However, Reston was close to another visit. They arranged for curbside pick-up but I masked up and entered to find Chris who was with another customer. I had a chance to look around the store and then he handed me my inserts. Will stop by again later to look at other good walking shoes. Very friendly and I hope this local store remains open.

Staff was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and easy to work with. Will totally be back for any athletic shoe purchases in the future.

The staff here did a wonderful job assisting me. I was window shopping for a new pair of running shoes when I walked into this store. The gentleman inside took some measurements, put me on a pressure sensor, and checked my pronation. This is exactly what I was looking for in a running shoe store. He brought me multiple pairs of shoes to consider after the initial run through. In the end, I left with a new pair of ON Cloudflyers along with a new running outfit. I definitely enjoyed my experience here.

I initially contacted Potomac via the contact form on their website stating some needs that I was hoping could be met.

They were, and then some. Bronson Lee helped match me up with Dan at this location, who was phenomenal.

Dan helped me find the magic shoe for me! I’ve taken it out a few times on the trail and it really is magic. I was able to clear up some chronic tendonitis with this shoe and rest.

The store itself is very autism friendly. Music is played at a very low volume, there is ample space to move around or fidget, and seating styles with different textures so you don’t have to touch any scratchy fabric. Dan also communicates everything he’s doing, why he’s doing it, how it works, and what you should do next in the process.

This is my new favourite store and I highly recommend it to neurodivergent runners and walkers!

Upon my visit to this establishment, I was on the hunt for a new pair of running shoes. I was warmly greeted by a courteous employee who guided me through a comprehensive foot scan, which included standing and walking evaluations, as well as a video analysis of my running form while wearing shoes and inserts.

I must say, the entire experience was a delight, and I found it to be quite informative and beneficial. Thanks to the thorough assessment provided by the employee, I was able to find a pair of running shoes that fit my unique needs, and I am pleased to report that I no longer experience any discomfort while running.

Overall, I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in search of high-quality running shoes and exceptional customer service. The personalized attention and expertise offered by the staff make for a truly enjoyable and worthwhile shopping experience.

Great place to try and find your good shoes. I recently started running long distance and my left foot was giving me trouble. After consulting here and analysing my run found that my landing was rolling and not firm. Found the best shoes best on their expert suggestion and my run seem balanced and no more painful landing on my left foot. Need to try the shoes on a longer period to find out if they can hold on to it, but so far looks good. No clear pictures of my NB shoes, but got few snaps of other stuff.

Big selection of popular running shoes and gear. I prefer them to other big brand sellers. They have a treadmill for testing shoes out, and they help with sizing and finding the perfect fit.

Excellent staffs. Courteous, professional and (running) experts provide crucial opinions, tips and assist with selection and fitting running shoes patiently. Neither any car-dealer-salesman push here. They seem knowledgeable on the foot anatomy respect to the dynamics of running. Only minor complain is that their prices a bit on the premium side. If they can improve on this, Potomac River Running truly deserves a five star and would distinguish itself from all other running shoes sellers. Very much enjoyed the recent store visit.

Danielle was a huge help and a true blessing for a n00b. Danielle put me a neutral shoe, did a gate analysis, and then went through several options with their pros and cons. I'm so glad I chose to go in to Potomac River Running instead of just blindly ordering on Amazon. They're friendly service, expansive knowledge base (impressed this guy), and no pushing sales attitude is exactly what I look for when getting into something new. Highly recommend PRR if youre looking to getting into running or are a long time runner.

This is easily the best place I have ever purchased ANY shoe from, and it's not particularly close. Whether you're new to running or a seasoned veteran, this is where you want to be.

Why? Fair prices, solid inventory, clean and modern ambience...

But as a sales and marketing professional, the real differentiator is the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Few companies do it great, Potomac River Running does it PERFECT. And yes, I'm a little jealous and wish I could replicate their warm techniques in the tech world lol

Would recommend if you want to improve your health via better foot support - which translates to better back/hip/knee/ankle health. I’m thinking it’ll save loads of genetic frustrations as I get older.

Dan was phenomenal. I set up a gait analysis and he was patient, knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful. I ended up buying two pairs of shoes, two insoles, and a custom-made insole to see if that helps more (even though he didn’t try to upsell me on it), which was based on some pretty cool mapping/imaging technology they have there.

They also have discounts for first responders and military.

Great service and so friendly and professional- took both of my young adult sons here ( different days) and got excellent service both times- both sons said they will only buy shoes from PRR based on their experience!

I was in and out in about 20 minutes, and that's saying a lot because I'm a terrible shoe shopper. I worked with Chris - the dude was super helpful and friendly. He was patient with me and brought out multiple shoes. We tried some different insoles, but the ones with the shoe were the best and I wasn't pressured whatsoever to purchase more than I needed. I've had the shoes for about a month now and love 'em. Thanks, Chris!

I had a really pleasant experience at this store. Although one of their scanner didn't work the staff helped me elect a comfortable shoe that worked for me, and were really patient and helpful. They listened to my current issues and feelings and found a shed that works based on that.

Last week, I bought my second pair of running/walking shoes at Potomac River Running - Mizuno with extra stability support. the year before I had done a stability test there and determined that I could benefit from this extra support. Service was excellent. I appreciate that the salesman brought out several different pairs for me to try to make sure that the Mizunos fit the best. I am enjoying my new shoes. Thanks.
