I came in quite ignorant and needed help. Scott was a gem: kind and helpful and efficient. Exactly how I hoped my trip to the hardware store would go.

Extremely helpful service and always with the right attitude. Each time I have showed up, they greet you almost immediately and are consistently willing to assist and answer any questions you may have without feeling funny or uninformed.

Been coming here for 30 years. Hardware is a tough business, people come and go, but these guys make a real effort to be helpful and courteous. Prices are what you would expect on Main Street in Southampton, but like Hildreth's this place is tremendously convenient and so much more personable than the big box stores. I am happy to support these guys!

It's your friendly local hardware store, lots of things for the DIY person. The inventory changes with the seasons, so it's not the same old same old. You can get a free ACE hardware discount card (not a credit card) to use when you're buying whatever item they have on sale (if you don't have your card on you, you use your phone# that's tagged to the card) and the inventory brand name. House keys can be made on site as well while you wait.

Love this store. The staff is super helpful and often I can find stuff there that may not be available in other local stores. Recently I needed a small thermos for my son’s camp lunch. After looking all over Southampton and finding just cheap plastic versions that don’t hold well either heat or gold, I finally found a high end product at Hedrick’s . Perfect for what I needed and the gentleman helping me was able to describe all the features to ensure that was what I wanted. This store is truly a Southampton Jem.

Dependable store! My mother and her mother and her sister swear by this store! The workers are helpful, I didn’t catch his name but the black gentleman who works on the floor was very much a help.

Long before Lowes and Home Depot there was Herrick Hardware, opened in 1865. Still offering just about anything (10,000 plus items here) you can easily fit into the trunk of your car be it a barbecue grill, toaster oven, 20 lb bag of bird seed, shower curtain, flag, nails, screws, hand tools, sewing items, cleaning products, and even higher-end small appliances like the famous SMEG brand can be found here. There is a country general store feel still present but not from the shiny modern products for sale. It is more from the reception you receive from the staff. Eager to help you locate whatever you need, there is always someone to assist you. So whether you are renovating an older home and need a push button switch plate, or are seeking a new door hinge or just charcoal for the barbecue, make your way to Main Street in Southampton, Herrick Hardware is conveniently situated next to the crosswalk making it easy to move your purchases. Oh, and they also offer to help you carry these packages to your car! There is so much to be said for old fashioned manners; they never get old nor do they go out of style. Herrick Hardware keeping with the changing times but never changing what are good business practices! Here's to another 154 years!

A million items for the home, not just hardware. Many knowledgeable staff on hand, almost like having a personal shopper. Fabulous customer service!
