Planters Peanut Center

Wow! Store has been around for 150 years! Small store front, full of Mr Peanut memorabilia! The current owners are friendly and knowledgeable about their products. When I grew up in Connecticut, there was a Mr Peanut store in Hartford but it closed over 40 years ago! Great memories! They have a great mail order business as well! I'm ordering more peanut squares for Christmas. Good place to stop for a quick trip down memory lane!

Great place for delicious peanuts, cashews, brittle, and chocolate covered raisins and nuts. Suffolk business where I have purchased special treats for almost 40 years. I have never been disappointed in all the years. Wonderful customer service there.

We stopped by today after seeing some Planters Peanut nostalgia at the train station in Suffolk. It was a cute little store but the best part was the owner! She absolutely sweet and friendly as can be. Plenty of southern charm. We are so glad we stopped!

The smells in this building are heaven itself. PLEASE make it a point to buy once a month from this store to keep the last great classic alive. The staff are so wonderful. The original roaster is STILL USED in this building (see photos). Taste peanuts the same way many of our ancestors tasted them, EXACTLY THE SAME. This is the mecca of peanut lovers, this is our Holy Grail.

Who doesn't love peanuts!? A local specialty, peanuts are a huge part of Suffolk, Virginia culture. The peanuts here come in a variety of options including double coated chocolate!

The service is always great. My own review is causing my mouth to water thinking of the peanuts available here! Highly recommended.

I love the fresh roasted peanuts and the excellent service.

I loved this little shop. It has a good amount of vintage memorabilia. The owner was very friendly and professional. He allowed us to take photos inside the store. There was a good amount of foot traffic. And he roasts and sell bags of peanuts he make on site in an antique roasting machine located at the front of the store, which I thought was as cool as all get out.

Awesome snacks, particularly enjoy the chocolate dipped peanuts. Kind friendly owners helped answer questions. Enjoyed the historical displays in the store. Will definitely come again

Faye and Bobby are great people. Faye being a second generation owner of the store, I know has made her father proud. The peanuts and conversion is always great when visiting and they are willing to ship nuts anywhere you want them to go!

Small but cute visit

Arrived at 5:10 pm. I got the same courtesy customer service as if I came at 10:00 am. They closed at 5:30 pm. They even have ice cold drinks. Take a walk through history. Mr Peanut recent death is not associated with this sweet treat shop.

This place has been part of my life since I can remember. It is always a wonderful part of “coming home” when we visit. The service is prompt and friendly every time. The math by hand is the BEST part! There is parking on the street! My favorite are the double dipped chocolate peanuts.

A local family-owned business that has been a landmark of this city for generations. Everything is prepared on site, and the employees are always friendly. Worth checking out if you find yourself in Downtown Suffolk one day

Delicious and freshly roasted assorted nuts, you’ll be able to tell the difference between these nuts from the ones on the store shelves. You wouldn’t want any other after tasting these. We love the Cashews, Red Peanuts, Cashew Brittles, and the Peanut Bar. Love the antique scale also.

What a great little store! The owners are nice and their peanuts are wonderful. I make it a point to pay them a visit when I am in Suffolk.

Nice retail store to get warm roaster peanuts and other peanut related items. Tgey still use a pencil and paper to firgure up your total.

I love going there. I have introduced a few people to the store. Never disappointed. My favorite is the double dips!
