Thunder Lizard

I visited this lovely bead and jewelry shop a few years ago while visiting my aunt. I finally got to using the ones I purchased but had forgotten which ones I had, so I sent them an email and was returned with the answers! So helpful! I will certainly visit again the next time I'm back in Taos!

We stopped here for a browse having been recommended by a shop in Taos centre. As we entered a lady came out saying ‘This place is awesome’. We opened the door to see something like a sweet shop of quality materials & beads. Scarlet was so welcoming, helpful & knowledgeable. 1.5hrs later we emerged with creativity brimming to take back to the UK. Thank you. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I have loved everything about each of my experiences with these folks!
They are extremely knowledgeable about their craft, very easy to talk to and work with, and very willing to help those who, like me, know nothing about beads or making jewelry. They have helped me multiple times over the years (both in-store and online via their Facebook page) and the exemplary service has been consistent!

My mother is VERY picky about her jewelry and has very specific ideas/preferences for what she likes and dislikes. After years of looking for a necklace for her, I finally found Thunder Lizard while visiting a friend that lived in the area. After I described the necklace I had been searching for, they gathered the necessary materials and made the necklace right on front of me! They have since made several versions of this necklace for me, because my mom loves them so much and never takes them off!! Thank you Thunder Lizard!!

A treasure chest of jewels from the earth! An amazing selection beads, gems, and unique pieces. Sharon and Scarlet are friendly and very knowledgeable. Definitely a place to check out when you're in Taos.

Had been thinking about making my own turquoise beaded necklace and stopped in to a couple of other bead shops but this one had a great variety and reasonable prices. The owner and her daughter were also very friendly and offered me great advice and encouragement for my project. I made my necklace the same day I got the supplies and am very happy with it. Love a family run shop where they are willing to take a little extra time and really know their field.

The quality of her merchandise is the best! We can’t find anything like it anywhere else. We live in Philadelphia, so we are having products sent to us. What a great option. Highly recommended!

This place is one of the most magical, colorful, and exciting craft stores in Northern N.M., I love it! Hand crafted beads of every sort the mind could imagine! Beautiful rugs, and inspiration throughout the store. A lovely family owned and operated business. A true gem!

Thunder Lizard is a sweet family owned bead/stone shop. They have the best selection in town and have good prices. Being a mom and an artist, it is hard to get away without the kids for supplies and we were always welcomed in this sweet shop! The kids had toys to play with in a kid friendly area while I got to find the stones I needed. Support this small business!!!!!!

Sells many kinds of pre-drilled beads and a very small amount of jewelry. Staff was nice and helpful. Thunder Lizard doesn"t sell findings, facets, or other types of jewelry making supplies. For a bead store though the selection was large.

Lovely little local gem! A must stop even if you’re just passing through. Kind and expert owner made it easy to shop and learn - she knows her stuff! This is a true small business with heart.

Just left there, coming from Los Angeles and Switzerland, Scarlet was so helpful and even made a necklace shown in a photo almost exactly for daughter, above and beyond.
