Local Route Disc Golf Store

Trevor and Joe turned our trip to buy a few replacement discs into a coaching lesson, and time that we could ask any form/disc questions we had. It turned a simple purchase into a fun and very informative conversation. I highly recommend coming here to buy your discs, get coaching, or anything disc golf related.

This Pro Shop is incredible, a must-visit for any avid disc golfer, new or seasoned! We stopped in twice while disc golf vacationing in the area to consult with their very knowledgeable and friendly staff and purchase some great discs and bags. Their prices are right in line with on-line retailers. Jeff was particularly intent on making my experience unforgettable with his knowledge and enthusiasm and another staff member helped me purchase my new Prodigy backpack! We will patronize this shop every time we are in the area and you should do the same!

Due to back issues I had to hang up my golf bag. I have always had Frisby dogs some that do crazy things, so I learned to throw one pretty good and always wanted to try Disc Golf. I went on YouTube and was amazed by 7 courses within 10 miles wow. Got online to find supplies but it was pictures I had no Idea what to get. I found Local Route Disc Golf Pro Shop. Awesome store and proprietor Trever helped me pick out 5 disks made sure I knew what they would do and told me where to play. My first hole at Oldsmar my first drive ever flipped left straight into the water. Disappointed, I went to the park for practice before I lost more. 3 days later I got a text with a picture of my disk. It was found and returned to Local Route and I can pick it up there. What an awesome community. Since I bought lessons and a Dynamic Disk disc basket paid for by my Medicaid Advantage plan that covers Fitness equipment and training. I already putt way better in 1 day. This place has everything you will need and an awesome guy to guide you. I highly recommend!

Great inventory. Friendly and helpful staff. Neat new disc golf museum almost ready. They return used discs if you are in their database.

Owner was so nice and showed us around and his crazy disc collection starting with the pie tin Frisbee.
We ended up purchasing several discs. Store doesn't look that big from the outside, but he's stocked floor to ceiling inside. If you're a beginner he has lots and lots of used ones for discounted prices. Knows all of the local PDGA celebrities too!

GREAT PLACE! I'm new to the area and I wanted to get some new discs and info on local courses. Cory spent a lot of time with me going through my play style and disc preferences. He is an incredible asset and super knowledgeable. I've never been to a disc golf store like this. Huge selection of discs and merch. Incredible!

When they say world largest it prob is .the selection of disc was phenomenal the staff was the best and the music was awesome. If your into disc golf I highly recommend going to this place

Went to Local Route today and we are so glad that we did!! Trevor hooked my husband and I up with custom carts!! Customer service is awesome!! Y'all should go here for all your disc golf needs!! Their selection of carts and discs is crazy!! And their employees are terrific!!

I’m admittedly a newbie to this. I can throw a frisbee in the backyard and even pretend I can play ultimate. But frisbee golf has remained mysterious to me. This store opened my eyes to the possibilities and technical achievements in this sport. They claim to be the largest warehouse for frisbee golf and I can see why. Literally hundreds of different makes and models of discs. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and got us each a few discs to try. There are a couple of courses nearby that we’ll check out. Awesome store.

Came in today from of town. I was immediately greeted by Frank and he promptly explained the layout of the shop! This place is Awesome!!!as I browsed the humongous selection of disc, Frank explained the characteristics of each one that I may like. If you are in the Tampa/ St. Pete area, a stop in here is a must!!! Frank and Cody are top notch! Thanks for all of the help!!!! I’ll be back.

I know nothing about disc golf, that being said I learned alot from the knowledge of the employee that was working. Great place for a beginner. Thousands of discs, new and used. VERY RECOMMENDED

What a great place to shop for all your Disc Golf needs! Locally owned and super friendly people!

Came to this shop for the first time today. I used to play regularly, but am definitely an amateur. Wandering around the store trying to figure out what to pick up for a new set, I realized I was under prepared.

In steps Chris! He stepping through my prior experience, and helped me pick out each disc, explaining why it may be a good pick and what each disc would do. We probably spend a total of 30 minutes getting a set for myself and another novice player. I really appreciate the help!

Another note: this shop is huge. They have a massive selection of new disc's, and an entire back wall of used disc's that are organized very well. I'll be coming here in the future. Try this place out, you won't regret it.

The staff have never been anything but super polite, friendly and helpful. Definitely a regular stop for me.

Trevor was incredibly helpful. He set myself and 3 other friends up with beginner sets tailored to our individual characteristics. He taught us all about the numbers on the discs and showed us which discs would curve which way.
This was absolutely the best experience I could have had getting started. I'm an even bigger fan of disc golf and its community now.

My fiancé, Scott, has mentioned the desire to play this sport before, but we never acted upon it until Thursday this past week. We watched a few YouTube videos about disc golf for beginners, then turned to Facebook Marketplace for supplies. We found the prices on the heavier side for used necessities and proceeded to search on Google for local stores selling the equipment needed to play the sport.

That’s when we discovered Local Route in Clearwater, Florida. The drive was about thirty minutes in midday traffic from where we reside, and we’re so glad we made the drive.

Upon entering the store, we were greeted immediately. We took to the isles ourselves, having no idea what to look for, and then approached the counter to seek a beginner’s set.

That’s when we met Trevor. He inquired about our age, noting any age-related physiological changes. He asked about any medical issues we had, which may therefore affect our ability to play. He also implored our history of any sport-related activity, determining our endurance level, or lack thereof rather.

After learning the basics and getting to know each other, Trevor distinctively chose our discs for us, explaining that the weight of the disc would have a large impact on my ability to play. He then created a particular set for Scott as well.

Trevor explained the actions of the discs we were assigned and urged us to take a photograph of the discs laid out on the ground to simply refer to as we began to play and understand the aerodynamics and science behind disc golfing.

Towards the end of the transaction, Trevor even told us about local disc golf courses in our area, so we were all set to be able to play.

I felt like the amount of time, care, and attention we received absolutely sold us as life-long customers of Local Route. As new and intimidated players, it really made all the difference.

In fact, Scott and I played our first round of disc golf, although only completing half the course. We sincerely had so much fun and cannot wait until the next time we are able to play!

Great shop. Huge selection of all the major disc producers and a tons of smaller companies as well. They also have in-house printing ability for personalized apparel (t-shirts, polos, hats, etc.) and a giant selection of disc golf accessories. The staff are all knowledgeable and extremely helpful when searching for something specific or asking advice.

Great selection of discs, bags, and anything else needed for frisbee golf. Great customer service and prices are competitive to online shopping. I highly recommend this store. Happy shopper;)

Took a friend to buy a gift for her son who's into DiscGolf. Absolutely huge supply of everything you could possibly need for the sport in both new and used items. Extremely helpful sales staff who took lots of time to make sure my friend was getting absolutely the right items for her son. No pressure but an extremely helpful environment from people who are really into the sport and it shows. Can't say enough about them or recommend them highly enough for anyone who's into the sport. Very positive experience.

Very nice store and extremely nice and helpful staff. I'm from Texas and only brought two discs with me. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, helping me pick a disc that suits my throwing style. Thanks again, yal, for all the help.
