Rift Cycles

This place is my absolute go to for all of my bike needs. I have stopped in countless times for replacement parts, random bike problems, and anything else I may need. The staff is always extra friendly and helpful and they even have cute dogs in the shop most days. Huge thanks to Ikhide for helping me get my tubeless tires set up recently!

Just had my Specialized Stumpjumper converted to tubeless at Rift. Too many flats had me immersing inflated tubes in the bathtub to find the small leak and patch it, to avoid the cost of another new tube. Finally made the switch that others had recommended. I probably could have done this myself, after watching videos, but chose to have someone who knows what they are doing make the initial conversion. Reasonable price for their labor plus the new valves and sealant. Hoping to ride flat free for many more miles now.

The crew at Rift just service by MTB and its riding better than ever. I bought the bike new, rode it for two seasons and took it in for a major tune up, clean-up and overhaul, it's riding better than the day I bought it. Ikhide took extra care in finding everything that needed to be addressed and sent me off with a super clean, tight riding machine. I will recommend him for service anytime. I visit Taos 4 times a year and finally bought a mountain bike at a local rental shop. I had a flat and just wanted advice but the techs immediately looked it over and performed work. Although it had a tube, another shop told me it was tubeless. Habib looked at it and immediately pulled the tube out, put a new valve on and applied sealant. Now it was tubeless!

After riding around i managed to bend a good derailleur and called and the next day Rift said to bring it in. I was expecting them to order parts and have me bring it in when I'm back in town. Instead Habib looked at it and explained to me that the protective disk wars bent, but he'd do what he could to straighten it. Within 2 hours he replaced the derailleur with a better one, unbent the disk and tested everything and I picked it up. It rode very smoothly after that.

Overall the expertise of the techs and willingness to service a customer according to their needs is par to none, and I've been to plenty of bike shops. Plus the atmosphere is very Taos and I just had to buy a T shirt too.

I can't say enough good things about this bike shop. I was biking around Taos and my dropper post quit working with only a couple days before I had to head back to TN. Rift co-owner worked me in on a very busy day for them. After several attempts at adjustment, he determined that the dropper needed a rebuild. He could not work a rebuild in for several days but he put on a straight seat post for me so I could keep riding until I had to leave the area. Only charge was for the seat post after he spent serious time on the failed dropper. I highly recommend this shop. They are busy but there is good reason for that! Thanks to all at Rift Cycles!

This bike shop is amazing! Everyone I met there was very kind and so helpful! My bike rides like a dream after leaving it there for just a few short days! I highly recommend this shop for all of your bicycle needs.

Rafael goes above and beyond on the care and concern he applies to my bike. His and the other employees' passion for cycling really are reflected in the high level of knowledge and service they provide. They even provided a hard-to-find spare part for my brakes for free!! Couldn't recommend more!

Great mechanics and solid members of the community. The shop gets busy so get in early, but these folks will do whatever they can to get you rolling again quick.

I always am confident that my bike is in good hands with these guys. They do a great job, they know what they are doing, and they are honest. They are also friendly and nice which, combined with the quality of work, makes the bike shop my favorite.

My bike had two flat tires from driving over Goat stickers. I was visiting the city and really wanted to get the bike fixed that day. Within several hours, they fixed the problem, tweaked several things on the bike that needed attention, and gave me a fair bill. Thanks!

In Taos for a couple of weeks and David was very helpful, ordered the right tailgate pad for my Tacoma, and was very accommodating. Excellent place and service!

Traveling through and stopped to check them out. Totally not snobby, was down to chat about places to ride in the area and looked like they could work on any bike you brought in. These guys seemed like enthusiastic problem solvers who were excited about their community and trails. Rock on!
