The Book Cabin

This is a little gem of a bookstore! And I mean that literally; it’s super small. The first things to greet you on the porch will be a sale rack of books and some cozy Adirondack chairs (when I went, the sale was 30% off). The merchandise inside is displayed tastefully and with every intention of maximizing the limited space available. Despite its size, I was walking back and forth in-front of the fiction section for at least 30 minutes. The selection of books is broad and organized with care, and there are little recommendation cards scattered throughout to help you pick something. Besides the books, there are also items like bookish candles, stationary, ornaments, tote bags, games and more. Stephanie (the owner), was lovely to speak to and made my visit a comfortable and welcoming experience. I ended up checking out one paperback for $17, while also grabbing a coupon card for future visits. My only reservation about the place is that it’s definitely not cheap, especially for a broke college kid like me. Prices are as-listed on the books themselves, unless otherwise noted, which can add up quickly (think $28-$30 on average for a hardcover). It’s also worth mentioning that there is a slight grassy incline to contend with on your way to the door, which might be less than ideal for wheel-chair users or other such handicaps. All in all I had a great experience and will definitely be back again!

Absolutely adorable little bookstore. Small selection but despite that they have a little bit of everything! Lots of cute stickers, notebooks, and much more! The porch outside has chairs and comfy hanging chairs if you want to read a book! Very positive vibes here.

THIS STORE!! (Insert emoji with heart eyes here) This was the cutest (and smallest) bookstore I've ever been in - and I couldn't believe the selection! So many books to choose from including newer releases and local authors. Something for every age (we happily left with stuff for everyone in our group - 22 months to 65 years!) Shop owner was amazing - very much enjoyed chatting with her! Quickly became one of my favorite little bookstores, and will absolutely be back any time I'm back in the Lake George area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The cutest bookstore!! A great selection of all types of books and great bookish merch. I went in just to check it out and walked out with a stack of books, a tote, and stickers!

This place is fantastic and adorable. It’s my dream: a tiny, private, quiet bookstore, off the beaten path. It is owned and run by a creative and inspiring woman, and the selection of popular books, toys, games, and gifts is great. The atmosphere is inviting, the presentation of goods is stylish, and the surrounding outdoor sitting areas make you want to stay all day. I make it a point to shop here whenever I’m in Lake George to support this great local merchant.

Nice little bookstore. A pretty remarkable number of books are somehow crammed into a space the size of my bedroom, which is kind of impressive.

Loved this little shop! It's the only bookstore I could find in all of Lake George lol, we searched and searched and all we found were t-shirt and magnet shops 😆 turns out we had to turn around and drive the other way, away from the main strip and into the woods.
A cute little cabin up on a hill filled with an excellent selection of fiction, non-fiction, kids books, and little New York souvenirs, postcards, etc.
The girl working there told me the owner personally selects each book that will be sold in her shop, and she does an awesome job at it IMO. They have a great selection. I bought Stephen King's new book and also Shuggie Bain, the 2020 Booker Prize winner. Prices were great too, all the new hardcovers we're 25% off the day we visited!
I will definitely visit this shop again next time we're up in Lake George!

A must for any book lovers that find themselves in Lake George. A really welcoming and tiny log cabin with hammock chairs on the porch, an extremely friendly and inspiring owner, and a surprisingly well curated collection given its size. Bring lunch, buy a book, and read it and eat on one of the chairs or picnic tables outside. This really was an unexpectedly great find.

This store is awesome brought 4 kids aged 11-14 they all left with something they loved and the owner is great, shcool teacher she could relate and help them find something they all were interested in
