Black Hog Ashburn

I recently stumbled upon The Black Hog while searching for a new place to eat on Google Maps, and I'm thrilled that curiosity led me here. This place caught my eye for its promise of freshly smoked meats.

Upon arrival, the knowledgeable and passionate staff members made me feel reassured that I was going to be indulging in something great. Their enthusiasm for their offerings was contagious, compelling me to try the 8-count dry rub wings. At each table, they conveniently provide a variety of house-made sauces: KC BBQ, SC Mustard, MD Original, and NC Vinegar. Although all the sauces complemented the wings perfectly, the MD Original stood out with its unique flavor.

For my entrée, I opted for the Texas Beef Brisket, accompanied by coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw was crunchy, the fries were perfectly seasoned, and the brisket was exceptionally tender—each bite was flawless.

Finishing my meal, I was satisfyingly full and already planning my next visit. The Black Hog isn't just about great food; they also host events, with trivia nights on Mondays and rib and wing specials on Tuesdays.

If you're in the mood for authentic, delicious barbecue and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend The Black Hog. It’s a spot that has quickly earned a place on my go-to list for great eats. I wish them nothing but success and look forward to many more tasty visits.

Stopped by after my open house looking for a quick lunch. The brisket sandwich and potato salad were delicious! There are four sauces in the table- I liked the original and mustard sauces best with the brisket sandwich which has pickled onions and sauerkraut on it.

I ordered carry out. I woke up hungry and a friend said get some BBQ and it had been a while since I had some. The place looks new- its definitely new for me, very clean and smelled amazing when I walked in to pick up my order. The handsome young man at the register gave me my order and asked if I needed silverware - he was kind.

I got the 4 ribs - Yum and added brisket, YUM! The collard greens and mac n cheese was perfect and the corn bread as well.

I feel like combined everything was balanced. I really enjoyed it and will be back when I need my BBQ fix.

I spent almost 30 I believe but there is no way that can eat thid all in one sitting. This will feed me twice or three times lol.

Great spot for BBQ. The coleslaw is likely the best I’ve ever had. All of the meats I’ve had are also really good. My favorite go to is the three meat mofo sandwich. Staff is very friendly.

I’ve been twice, once dining in and once take out. Both times were exceptional. The mac and cheese is tasty but nothing special. The collard greens are outstanding and have a little bit of ‘heat’ most likely red pepper. Of course, their specialty is the smoked meats. The pork is great both pulled and NC (pulled and chopped). I’m not from Texas so it’s probably sacrilege, but the Texas style brisket is among the best I’ve had. Both meats were delicious, perfectly smoked, and the brisket had a beautiful ring and was tender. Service is quick, and the team there is very friendly and helpful. My only downsides are that it’s about 40 minutes for me, and I like slightly sweeter less hot sauce or a true vinegar BBQ sauce. But the meats are so good, no sauce is needed. And they do have a couple of other sauces available if you dine in.

No idea why this place has some poor reviews. I was skeptical after reading some of them, but this place is awesome. The pulled pork was excellent, the brisket was juicy (rare to find in NoVa) and the service was great. It's super clean, sauce selection was great and the prices were more than reasonable for the portions.

The sides are all excellent, after having been there a number of times I’ve tried them all. Do yourself a favor and try the mustard bbq sauce with the smoked sausage.

Parking is easy, plenty available just outside the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Being from Georgia I love the made from scratch sides and cornbread, they remind me of my mom’s cooking. The Sicilian grilled chicken is so flavorful and portions are generous. Great value for tasty bbq.

Service was amazing. I was going to get a cheeseburger with Arkansas brisket on the side, but the lady said let me make it a little cheaper. She gave me the Luke burger which has the Arkansas brisket on the sandwhich with same toppings and gave it to me on the side. The brisket had the perfect amount of spice and tang. The burger was perfectly cooked, medium rare. The fries were crisp and perfectly salted. It was very reasonably priced for the service and food. This place is hands down best barbecue place I have ever been to.

I love Black Hog. I've had lunch or dinner here many many times during the past couple of years. I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, baked beans, and greens. My favorite items are the pulled pork and especially the ribs. Both the dry and wet ribs are delicious, but the wet ones are my go-to because I love the sauce they put on them. They sometimes have pies that are very good, especially the Oreo one!
Staff is always welcoming and friendly.

I can't say enough about how good this food was! I got a sandwich called the DMV but it was so much more than just a sandwich. The brisket on it was two layers of thick cut, tender and delicious happiness. It also had horseradish and pickled onions on it. This was a meal by itself but it came with a side also. I got the homemade greens and they too were fantastic. I will definitely be back again and again until I try their entire menu.

Nice atmosphere. Variety of bbq flavors from different regions. Fast service and great food. Ordered brisket. Had great flavor with nice smoke ring. Fries had skin on and were belgian style. Def recommend.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had; certainly the best brisket around! I come here regularly. Only 3 stars for the atmosphere, but that’s because it’s casual, so don’t let that keep you away. Well with the calories and the money!

Wonderful experience. Good service. Nice meat selection and I loved the specials. The brisket was...... ugh I'm going back now cause writing this review made me think about how delicious that brisket was.

Like damn son. It was good. Ribs were eh, and that over sauced stuff wasn't there for me. But that brisket slapped.

Husband and I visiting from Charlotte and decided to try Black Hog and and we are glad we did! Not many customers when we went on a Tuesday night at 7pm. Food was hot and delicious. I had the chopped pork and husband had Texas brisket and pork shoulder. No complaints. Try their Cole slaw as well.

Blackhog barbecue was extraordinary. I got the ribs with the Beef brisket. They had about six different barbecue choices to put over the meat melted in your mouth. The sides were phenomenal I got the mac & cheese and collard greens. Not to mention their delicious specialty drinks. I will definitely be back for sure and would recommend it to any and everybody exclamation

Highly recommended! Staff was friendly. Food was excellent. In all honesty it was the best burger I had out. My mom is picky with pork, but she loved it from here. Definitely will return.

Great staff, good BBQ. If you're a sweet potato fan, definitely try theirs. Had the ribs (dry rub and wet) and beef brisket, they did not offer chicken. Will go back!

I've been to Black Hog in Frederick and this one lives up to the original. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helped me decide on what to get from their extensive menu of meats.

As someone who grew up in the Midwest eating KC style and Texas style BBQ I have to say they are the best I've had in this part of the country.

Honestly the best Texas style Brisket I've had in years, possible ever.

Anytime I'm in the area for work and they're open they will definitely be at the top of my lunch options list!
