Newtown Ice House

My Mom, wife, and I went to see Chicago Transit last night and decided to stop at the Newtown Ice House. My wife suggested that we do so and what a great decision it was! The man and woman that helped us were helpful, kind, and patient. I had a peanut butter cup gelati with twist soft serve and heath bar. It was fantastic! My wife had a coffee gelati and liked it too. Grateful for awesome customer service and yummy treats. Excited to go back!

Absolutely amazing!! I have been here about 100 times within the the first week! Definitely the best Ice cream in the area.

Wow this is the best water ice I’ve ever had! The texture is amazing, very authentic and unique flavours. I got the lemon meringue (insanely good!) and mint choc chip (very high quality ingredients!) and whilst those two flavours have seemingly nothing to do with one another and I’m not sure belonged in the same cup… I have zero regrets 😎

Nice place to stop if you are in town, or not. Girls at the desk were SUPER friendly and the choices were abundant. The ices have real ingredients which makes them stand out for me. I liked every flavor I've tried so far.

Our family absolutely loves their custard and gelati! The go-to favorite water ice flavor is definitely the cherry bordeaux. The pieces of cherry are unexpectedly delicious! This is exactly like the old-fashioned, Philly experience you crave so we recently ordered the birthday bucket of custard. Everyone loved it!

Absolutely fantastic! Had a small gelati - cherry Bordeaux with chocolate ice cream. So delicious, loaded with real cherries. Very nice portion sizes to boot ! Gotta get there if you haven’t tried it.

Great place!! The people behind the counter were so kind and helpful!! We were already huge fans of Yardley Ice House but happened to be in Newtown when we were craving a treat today and had to try out the new place! The water ice was just as delicious as Yardley’s. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Very cute shop. We visited after picking sunflowers and wanted to check out Newtown. I got a cotton candy waterice and my bf got a blue hawaiin (pineapple, coconut, orange). The waterices were so good! Great flavor but no overly sweet. Very refreshing, I would definitely recommend!

Terrible for my diet but everything we have had here has been awesome and the workers are so friendly. I got myself a Tshirt and a magnet on my 3rd visit. Love the coffee milkshake and coconut water ice which has real little chunks of coconut in it. Perfect little spot. Will be a regular customer.

Had the butterbeer with cinnamon bun and it was beyond amazing! Newtown Ice House for sure puts Rita’s in its place as it has more variety and fresher made water ice that’s right in the middle of the town.

Finally... an expansion of the long-cherished Yardley Ice House has made its way to Newtown! Their gourmet water ices are like no other: the cherry bordeaux has chunks of real cherries and the key lime pie has real lime and even bits of pie crust in it. And don't even get me started on the custard which is so creamy and delicious. Order a gelati and get the best of both worlds (a gelati has water ice and custard.) They also make other novelties like shakes, floats and chipwiches, plus they sell 'to go' quarts so you can continue to enjoy at home or serve at backyard BBQ's/pool parties. Make this a go-to stop on your summer list!
