I think it’s very unfair to complain about what they’re able to accomplish at this post office. They have set up a wonderful system despite the guidelines they have to work with and and the huge number of packages that go through the door. When they built this post office we didn’t have the online stores. How we purchase is changed dramatically over the last 10 to 15 years. These folks are overloaded with packages. And yet they do the best they can to accommodate all of us with a smile on their face. I happen to get large orders because I am not able to shop. And even though I probably get more packages than the average person they do their very best to accommodate. The other thing that folks just need to realize if they want to live in this beautiful town we don’t have postal delivery to our door. It is not our post office that makes decisions. Large companies i.e. Amazon have delivery programs set up from them that even if you go UPS or something like that it switches to the post office to take it to remote areas. To me they have come up with a system that works yes our package comes in one day and we get it the next day after 2:30 PM. These people work very hard to get that done. Who’s ever complaining seriously are they supposed to unload the UPS truck sort through hundreds of boxes just to get you what you want immediately. So for the next person that would like to complain. Think about the process and what an ideal way they came up with us getting our packages as soon as possible. And safely I might add. The hundreds of packages I’ve had to go through there and I’ve never had one issue. The team there are kind considerate and extremely helpful. They do their best to help us get our packages never mind our mail. And I would like to add to those of you that may not know. Many of these people have spent Christmas Eve working overtime to give us our packages that we did not order in time. So maybe if they just didn’t smile right or say the right feel good words one day. They certainly do by their actions every day supporting our community. And I for one is extremely grateful and would like to say thank you to the wonderful team at the Ranchos de Taos post office

These are good hardworking people. Really don’t like the attitude in the other reviews. They try. More than can be said about most.

They're just doing their jobs. There are issues from time to time like anywhere else, and yes occasionally you might deal with an employee who is having a long day, but everything is copacetic for the most part. No issue is really that catastrophic.

The biggest gripe I have has more to do with a lack of mailboxes in Ranchos. Quite a few people cannot get deliveries to their homes via USPS because they have no mailbox.

This makes it difficult to order just about anything to your home online because there's always the fear that the shipper will choose USPS and your package won't be delivered but instead sent back. And it's not like UPS and FedEx don't have their issues.

But that's what PO boxes are for I suppose.

I liked the ranchos post office it was quick and no one really uses it. Obviously if you go there when school let's out it's busy but you would have to expect that

Have had said PO Box since 1982; with no questions asked or any statements given, has been shared with my grandparents (the initial owners of the box), my mom, my aunt and her family, my daughter, myself and most recently (a 12 year period) my boyfriend. However within the past few weeks (mind you have 'NEVER' experienced such poor decision making, the new Post Master; without any notice of said change, has taken it upon themselves to send mail back 'cause certain names weren't on the list for said PO Box .. I've remedied this by adding said name and hopefully no important mail such as tax returns or jury duty notices have been missed

I was hired here last summer and after meeting the postmaster I decided not to accept the position. She lacks the ability to serve the community in which she was sworn into. There is substantial deficiency in her ability to lead her team and this is reflected in the high employee turnover and the numerous complaints left on this page.

I am flabergasted at the lack of service here. I handed them a pink package slip that I had just pulled out of my mailbox. They told me my package was not there. 2 people looked and couldn't find it. The gentleman told me they had reattempted delivery twice and sent my package back. I asked the date. He said the 18th, which was before I had even ordered the package in question. He asked if I had the tracking #. I told him I had to get my phone out of my car, which I promptly did and got back in line. The tracking information told me they had attempted delivery that morning. Once i reached the counter the other lady was there. I explained to her the situation and she asked for my pink slip. I explained to her I had just given it to the man. He claimed he had no idea what I was talking about. I said "This was less than 5 minutes ago, I stood here waiting for 5 minutes and you both told me my package was not there". He said I had never handed him a slip. The lady claimed I had never handed him a slip. They wouldn't have gone in the back in the first place to look for the package had I not given them a slip. They called the mail delivery person who explained they had just attempted delivery and my package should be there. They continued to tell me I needed the pink slip which I had already given them and they apparently lost. There is no way both of them forgot what happened less than 5 minutes prior, a package they both supposedly had looked for. Finally the lady goes to the back and brings out my package, which had been there all along and reluctantly gives it to me, as if she was doing me a favor. I would totally understand if they made an honest mistake and were forthcoming about it, but they chose to gaslight me and try to tell me I hadn't given them the slip which I handed them less than 5 minutes prior and they never returned to me. I am guessing it was thrown in the trash. Utterly ridiculous.

Mr. Garcia refused to assist with a package that was already delivered to the post office. Amazon once again shipped with the wrong shipper and USPS refused to deliver or hold my package. This is insane. I show up with the tracking number and my ID and they WILL NOT HELP ME.
