Small but well stocked. Friendly, helpful, and loquacious owner - Rick.

This bookstore is filled with a variety of books that relate to many different subjects. They range from politics to autobiographies. Some used bookstores lack a database to search books in their stores, but location has it. Therefore, it is easier to find titles that readers may want to have. The best part of this bookstore is the owner and worker, Rick. My conversation with him was one of the highlights of my trip. He is a good listener and asks questions. He acts with kindness and consideration of other people. Please visit this shop if you are looking for older and/or used books.

A great little book shop with a well curated selection and a very good stock of local history books. Definitely the best book shop in Taos.

Rick was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful! I was looking for a book about Taos as a gift and he walked me through multiple possible selections. His commentary and stories made me want to buy all of them! I really feel as if I could have picked up any book in his selection and had the same experience. Slightly off the main street of Taos and totally worth your time. Prices are typical of small bookstores.

While on vacation, I purchased some great finds that were quite reasonable: Heart of Darkness, Nine Stories by J. D. Salinger, and several other texts. There was educational, historical, and how-to literature. There were even teacher texts!
The owner and salesman were very nice. I planned to find one book to read and left with six.
I absolutely loved the place and plan to return before we leave.

Incredible experiences. As a young person it can sometimes be difficult to connect and converse with people a bit older to you, but at Brodsky, the size of the store, quality of literature, and endearing, conspicuous care of the inventory and atmosphere of the store encapsulates an appreciated, secure energy, well furnished with jazz, and the prudent easy going of the owner, Rick. His vast collection of books is homey, comforting, and well equipped by his knowledge and care. His rarer books are dauntingly fascinating, from first edition Kerouacs to one of a kind (and signed) Harjos, it's very unique and the history behind each is just behind the counter from his provocative and engaging intelligence. Rick holds a paternal-ship of bookkeeping in Taos most definitely, worth stopping by for the books, and worth coming back for Rick.

NOTE TO OWNER: sorry we couldn't make it to your wonderful bookstore last week. The salon behind you is scaring away people trying to park in your parking lot in the back. I have been coming to your bookstore since 2006 and we absolutely love it. Never change!

I received an old, out of print book from Brodsky Bookshop recently by mail. I’ve never received a book so carefully wrapped in paper before. I live nowhere near Taos, NM but I look forward to my visit to this place.

Rick, the owner, is incredibly helpful, friendly, and social. Lots of great books, got a new edition of 1984, had a friendly cat, definitely recommend. Ignore recommendation and you will regret.

This place is run by such a nice man. We spent way more time here than we thought we would just chatting about books with the owner. Check it out if you love books and good people!

Everything you want in a small, independent bookstore as well as a nice little used LP collection. Good focus on books from or about Taos and New Mexico as well as the Enchanted Circle.

I found the book "A Fragile Beauty" Foreword by Robert Redford at a thrift store in Albuquerque, NM yesterday afternoon. The cover is very worn, the price is cut off and it's marked #1 of 40. I am wondering if this is one of the "write a book/throw it away."

The ironic thing is that a friend died recently; she is from Aspen, Colorado and still very young, but she loved Taos, NM and Robert Redford. Her desire is that her cremains be spread somewhere in Taos.

Last night, as I was reviewing some of the pictures in the book, the one that really stood out was the evening sky at the Taos, Gorge. When I saw that picture, it came to mind that is where Denise's ashes must go.

In any event, I am wondering if this particular copy is somehow "unique" as marked?

Great bookstore. My favorite in Taos. And really interesting people work there. I wish it were bigger but they'll order what they don't currently have.

One of my favorite locals hangouts. By the way, do you have Ron Chernow's book...'Grant'? Oh...and pet the kitty for me

Who can't fall in love with this bookstore when the tabby cat sleeps right in the middle of the checkout counter?
