My husband and I worked with Andy and Angie for over two years developing a plan for turning a complex wooded lot into our new custom home. Every step of the way, Andy and Angie were available to answer our many questions, keep us organized, and stay within our budget. We met with several builders before choosing John Michael Homes. Not only do they have raving reviews, but they also were highly recommended by people we knew. Prior to meeting with them we felt the building process was stressful and was never going to happen for us. From our first meeting Andy and Angie worked with us and eased a lot of the stress we were feeling. They were professional but still down to earth and easy to work with and talk to. They guided us through selections right from the start and established an actual cost to build. We felt they were very open and honest about pricing. They kept us updated on the schedule, changes, and photos through Builder Trend. It was great to see photos of the progress as it was happening or when we couldn't be there. They worked with us through all of our different choices and didn't try to change our minds because it was out of the norm of what they do. Any issues or questions that arose they handled seamlessly and without hesitation in a timely manner. And let's be real things are going to come up no matter who the builder is. They key is how they are handled.
We have been in our new home now for several weeks and any minor glitches have still been addressed very quickly by Andy and Angie. Which makes me confident they will handle any warranty issues if they arise. Although I don't anticipate there will be any.

After meeting with a few other builders and not feeling like they were a good fit for us, we met with John Michael Homes and instantly knew they were the builder for us. Andy and Angie listened to what we were looking for while keeping us within the budget we had. They were more than willing to work with us on a custom design for our country lot which seemed to be a deal breaker for other builders. They use a system called Buildertrend which allowed us to see multiple items such as estimates, costs, building pictures, a schedule outline and a message board to discuss items as they arose. Both Andy & Angie were easy to get a hold of and always addressed any concerns or questions we had in a very timely fashion. The vendors that they sent us to for selections were also very easy to work with and helped us integrate our design ideas into our choices. John Michael Homes made the building process as easy and transparent as possible which made our building experience a wonderful one. If we ever decided to build again, we would work with them again in a heartbeat – they helped turn our dreams into a reality and built us a very beautiful home that is nicer than we could have ever imagined!

Update: After 18 months of being in our home, Andy and his team continue to impress us. Due to COVID, we weren't able to have our 11 month walk-thru. Andy and his team came to our home after 18 months and fixed everything on our punch list, going above and beyond what was necessary. Couldn't recommend them more!

We selected John Michael Homes as our builder for our house in Cambridge, Wisconsin based on good reviews but mostly on a face-to-face meeting with Andy Weber and his associate Angie Kober at their office in Johnson Creek. Andy was very thorough in explaining the process of new construction but eager to understand all of our needs and what we expected in a home. The fact that he listened carefully to what we wanted and then used his expertise to suggest cost effective processes and selections gave us a very good feeling about the way he conducts his business. He looked out for us in the most respectful way to ensure we got what we wanted but also offered great suggestions so we could make decisions fully aware of financial considerations and our lifestyle needs. In addition, during the construction process, he kept us informed with progress photos and regular contacts regarding building, material, mechanical, and trim decisions. We always felt comfortable with his suggestions and really appreciated his straightforward manners. I would highly recommend Andy and Angie to build a home for anyone including for any of my friends. They did a great job and we are very happy with our new home.

We met with Andy before we found land to build on. He was extremely patient and helped us get the most out of our budget. Having built before, we had very specific ideas on what we wanted. The last thing we wanted was a cookie-cutter house. Andy was very good at explaining how each decision we made would impact our overall results. He would tell us we could do anything we wanted to, but then help us understand trends, functionalities, and trade-offs. We started with one of his base plans, and we now have a beautiful custom home. Andy and Angie work in an open book environment, and utilized an app to keep us up to date. Pictures and expenses are uploaded constantly, and we never had to wonder what was going on. Andy is extremely particular about his subs and the work that they do. He made sure everything they did was perfect. Talking with the subs, they rave about Andy and all of the homes he builds which speaks volumes. People ask us if we would build again after this experience, and we would build with Andy and Angie again in a heartbeat. However, we built our forever home, and they did such a great job that we don't plan on ever needing to.

As an interior designer, I've worked with many contractors and builders in Waukesha County. When it came time to design my own home, I actually turned to a builder a bit west of here - John Michael Homes. Customer reviews are so important these days. After reading some of Andy's, I had to see for myself what sets this company apart. From our first onsite meeting, I knew this was someone I could work with.

Andy fielded everything I threw at him - a steep lakefront lot, challenging building footprint, winter time construction. He worked through road restrictions and non-existent parking. And then dealt with our many, many specific requests, design dramas and the typical ups and downs of construction.

Our dream was always to be able to build our own home. We had heard the stories of building a home; good and bad. When we decided to build, we interviewed many builders in the area; two of the “big guys” and four of our local small town builders. The instant we interviewed Andy at JMH, he stood out above all of the others on so many levels. Just from talking to Andy on the phone we could tell he was going to be up front and honest with us, and he wasn’t hesitant to answer any of our questions we had for him. We were looking for two main characteristics besides a good reputation of a home builder: communication style and a personality that meshed with one of our own.

Now that our HOME is built, and we have been able to live in our home for a little over three months, we can say hands down, Andy was exactly what we had hoped and dreamed he would be when it came to communication and personality in a builder. JMH and their crews of all avenues throughout the many aspects of the building process were great, we couldn’t have asked for a better group to work with. We cannot say that everything went perfect or without a flaw; there were some here and there, BUT when those few flaws and imperfections came about; Andy and his crew did all they could to not only fix the issue at hand but make it right with us in every way possible. THIS is exactly what we looked for in our home builder - the communication and efforts to do things the right way as our HOME was built by JMH. Andy, the entire JMH crew, and his subcontractors have proven throughout our entire build that to build a house there will be ups and downs; but how you treat your customer and answer their wants and needs will ultimately build their HOME. Great experience!!! We were a bit nervous going into construction as we didn't know what to expect. Andy was awesome, he guided us through the entire project and was always right there to answer any of our questions. We are going on almost a year now in the new house and couldn't be happier.
