John Cahoy, MD

We met Dr. Cahoy when my 9 year old was randomly diagnosed with potential scoliosis at a routine physical exam. We were referred to Dr. Cahoy and at the Xray found that it was a severe left thoracic curve. Dr.Cahoy suggested we explore the WCR brace and potentially stop the curve from worsening before considering surgery as an option. Dr. Cahoy is extremely patient and kind in answering all our questions. He explains everything very thoroughly , with data and also has a wonderful way of working with kids and their nervous parents. Every question, no matter how small or silly was answered patiently and thoroughly. The whole team is amazing, starting with Glenn Paul for the brace , Mary Evans for Schroth therapy , Jen for scheduling to the entire staff, they are awesome!! They will do everything possible to help you have the best outcome. We are so grateful that we were able to meet with him and the team at the right time and ended up with very good results. I cannot recommend Dr. Cahoy enough to anyone that is looking for an solution to treat scoliosis.

Dr Cahoy and his staff were amazing throughout the care of my daughter who was treated for scoliosis. As a Physical Therapist who specializes in spine care, I did extensive research and asked colleagues who would be the best in facilitating the best care for my daughter. Dr Cahoy listed to all of our questions, addressed all concerns, and was an knowledgeable facilitator amongst a great team of providers. I highly recommend him and his team for the best adolescent scoliosis care.

Dr. Cahoy was so concerning, understanding, and professional with my 9 year old daughter with a double fracture in her leg. He explained things to her so she understood to the fullest and was so patient when she would be nervous and had many questions to ask. His staff is amazing as well, very caring and patient when little ones get nervous about what they are experiencing. I highly recommend Dr. Cahoy.

Dr. Cahoy is a wonderful, caring doctor and I am so happy we made the choice to see him. In March of 2018 my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis. She was at a 19 degree curve and still had to go through puberty and her biggest growth spurts. The doctors at Yale not only REFUSED to treat her until she reached a 25 degree curve but they told me there was NO HOPE of correction, only keeping the curving at bay. For them, a big success would be to keep her spine at no more than 30 degrees by the time she finished growing. Well, thank goodness I found Dr. Cahoy. He uses a much more sophisticated brace technology (Wood, Rigo, Chinoix bracing) and at not even two years since her initial diagnosis, my daughter's spine is PERFECTLY STRAIGHT and she will be out of her brace very soon. Dr. Cahoy is a genius, but he is also very kind and has a wonderful way of working with nervous parents and children. He explains everything thoroughly and makes your child understand how the treatment is pretty much up to him or her. Treatment is simply wearing this brace and doing exercises recommended by a therapist. His brace maker, Glenn Paul, is also a wonderful, caring person who really wants to see his patients achieve success and the entire staff there is a pleasure as well. If your child is diagnosed with scoliosis, this is the person you want to put his or her care in. Amazing man. And we travel from CT to see him. HE IS WORTH IT.

Dr. Cahoy was wonderful with our daughter who broke her leg in 2 places a few months ago. His calm and thorough way of explaining everything put her at ease and made the whole healing experience a positive one. Highly recommend!!

Dr Cahoy is fantastic! I had been seen by another orthopedist on several occasions for a broken ankle. This orthopedist was extremely vague and unclear if my broken ankle was stable and what treatment plan was appropriate. After several weeks of wearing an ill fitting, uncomfortable boot I saw Dr Cahoy for a second opinion. Dr Cahoy was extremely thorough, took the time to answer questions and formulated a treatment plan from day one. I was put into a cast immediately, my ankle is healing and I have had several follow up appointments. He is always very caring, informative and reassuring. I highly recommend Dr Cahoy!

Very unprofessional. Told me that my MRI results showed something on my meniscus but it shouldn’t be feeling the pain that I am. Which you should put the patients pain in perspective not what you feel the pain level should be. My leg turns purple when I stand but he didn’t think that was concerning. He is sending me to a PT for my brain making me think the pain is worse than it actually is. He has told many kids this same thing, making the kids think that he doesn’t believe their pain. 10/10 Do not recommend going to him very unprofessional.
