Delamere performed a gut renovation and substantial addition to my home in Shelter Island a few years ago. The job required recreating a lot of historical detail from architectural drawings and some very complicated carpentry and drainage considerations given the waterfront site. The quality of craftsmanship and overall execution was extraordinary. The choices they make are always tasteful and built to last. They kept within the competitive, original budget and in addition, were sensitive to and assisted with value engineering the project. This has struck me at the time and subsequently, as tremendously rare. All the subs they used were consistently talented and user friendly but they keep some key functionalities in house, like carpentry and painting. Andy and Lem, the principals of Delamere, operate with high integrity and always do exactly what they say, which is no doubt why they attract a talented team and have happy clients. Never once did I see a corner being cut, so to speak. Since the completion of the project, many, many people have approached me to tell me that our's is their favorite house on the island, as it is in a highly visible location. I attribute much of this to the Delamere team and their pride of ownership and commitment to excellence. Delamere is tops in the industry. Particularly in a place like the Hamptons where most GC’s are rip off artists and are not to be counted on. I have done two full home renovations and home additions with Delamere. The first almost 15 years ago, and the one this past year. They do exceptional work. All done on time and on budget. That does not happen in the Hamptons, and on top of it they are great guys. I would recommend them to anyone considering a project, without any hesitation.
