This is an awesome trail! We rode our bikes and it’s a super easy ride- be warned lots of folks who don’t pick up after their dogs… and for whatever reason a TON of mosquitoes have bloomed on island the past week or so- bug spray is a must.
Trail was very well maintained- the “main” trail is probably best suited for walking and horses. The side chutes are good for mountain biking- could walk them too but lots of roots and just weird turns that just scream bike and not so much hike.
Great place to ride or walk if you aren’t looking for a trip off island.
Of island folks coming on? It’s ok- no real views, but is peaceful. Would consider this a good exercise trail set.
Didn’t see any trash aside from the animal leave behinds. Parking lot is gravel/paved.
We parked as close to the gate to hopefully minimize any chance of break-in. (Not saying it’s a known area…. Just a precaution we take everywhere we go….)
No restrooms, no portajons, no trash cans.

Fantastic community forest on Whidbey Island with 7 miles of trails for hiking/ cycling/ horse riding. Trails are well-maintained and offer good canopy coverage which was green and cool in the midsummer when we visited. Trails are well marked using names and colours, and are marked at each junction. There are 3 car parks, we used the one near the Bounty Loop and it had approximately 20-30 spaces, gravel surface. Fantastic history - the community fundraised to buy the land in 2010 to save it from redevelopment.

Beautiful forest trails with many mushroom varieties and a huge rock that was moved from the San Juan Islands during the Ice Age. Our family loves hiking the trails which are fairly flat and well maintained!

Nice place to ride bikes, the forest trails are well maintained and it's pretty shady on a hot sunny day

Nice trails with lots of options for shorter hikes or longer treks for the more intense hikes. Saw a beautiful Barred Owl that flushed out of some thickets on the ground. Very quiet and beautiful natural area.

First rate hike for New Year Day 2018. Make sure you bring a "new" map with trail names. Otherwise, you could spend a lot of time finding your way out. It also helps to read the history of the woods as it helps you to appreciate what you see on your hike. I always feel humbled when I see the stumps of old growth trees felled many years ago. But seeing the efforts to restore this area is so encouraging.

Went for a run with our running group. Somehow, we managed to run uphill on the way out and back. It was a beautiful run, though.

Gravel parking lot and restroom. Good place to pull of for a second, because its hard to find from the road looks like a driveway or something.
