The Rails, where have you been all my travels?

This is THE local gem. I'm actually furious I didn't find it earlier in my time in Clovis. I was beginning to get very depressed on this business trip here. But now, I'm actually smiling!

The wine list is perfection, and very reasonably priced (hi, Austin Hope way out here! Paso deliciously representing here!).

Needless to say, the food is delicious. A++++. Best food in Clovis, and the only place to get wine. I only snapped a picture of the coconut cheesecake, which is just how like cheesecake - a little chunky, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. I will be here every single night for dinner, and I hear they have brunch on Sundays.

The building is a beautiful historic building dating back to 1907 - the oldest in Clovis. The bar is also beautifully designed, it is really such a pleasure to be here.

The service really can't be beat either, everyone has checked in on me. I feel so special!

I went alone to have a quiet dinner to myself, and everyone took such good care of me! They sat me in a quiet corner by the bar, and I was able to watch the bartenders do their thing and they are amazing! I barely noticed when they brought me my water, cocktail, and appetizer! The servers were so discreet and efficient; my drink was never empty and I never sat waiting for anything for longer than about 10 seconds. Honestly one of the best dining experiences of my entire life!

Food was cooked perfectly, piping hot and fresh and looked amazing. The cocktail was also spot on! 10/10 overall!

So this place came as a surprise to me while visiting Clovis for work. This establishment reminds me of high end steakhouses in Fort Worth. The restaurant is huge as it should be in a converted train station. Food was on another planet compared to the rest of the choices in Clovis. The staff was friendly and happy to be working for a restaurant of its caliber in the area. I ordered yellowfin tuna tartar that was so unique with a runny egg yolk resting in the middle. And the crispy duck breast which I would say was anything but crispy, but I absolutely loved how juicy and well roasted it was. A few people recommended I try it. Nothing negative to say about this place. I travel to Clovis 1 week every year and plan on eating every night here plus trying out the Sunday brunch. Very glad I discovered this restaurant and have no reason to keep it a secret. Give it a try. Not a budget dinner by any means but their menu is impressive and worth it.

I was real hesitant to try this place, because it's Clovis after all... but I've been here a handful of times and they've never let me down. Their waitstaff is extremely knowledgeable and the owners are incredibly accommodating and polite. Their bar is very well stocked, and the food was surprisingly fantastic every time. It's pricey, but definitely great for a date night or just for good food!

Just what Clovis needed for a wonderful date night with your loved one. The atmosphere was perfect, service was good, and the food what different from anything offered in Clovis. ALL dishes were visibly beautiful! The arancini was incredible! I highly recommend them. The tuna tartare was ok. My husband ordered the crispy duck breast, Mashed Potatoes, and asparagus, I had the truffle fettuccine with blackened shrimp. The skin on the duck wasn't as crispy as I expected, but a little bit of everything on one bite was delicious. The shrimp on my fettuccine was good, but I think the dish needed more parmesan. The berry creme Brulee didn't have that crack when tapped, but the honeycomb added a nice bitter taste and some crunchy texture. The key lime pie was what one would expect. We sat on the outside patio and there was a thunderstorm, they closed the shades and it was very romantic. Will definitely be back, since I heard the menus are supposed to change. Hoping I get to try the shrimp and grits next time!

We are from Virginia traveling on vacation and decided to stop at The Rails for dinner, and are glad we did! The atmosphere was cozy and unique, and the history of the building was interesting to learn about.

The food and drinks were amazing, I ordered butter chicken curry and my partner a ribeye steak; we highly recommend both! Raspberry cheesecake was the cheesecake of the day when we went, it was also really good and worth giving a try! Our server gave great recommendations and was very nice and helpful, overall a well rounded establishment

When I first heard about this place back in September of 2022, I knew that I had to come and see how this old train depot/museum was transformed into a unique and very nice restaurant! When I visited this place on November 26, 2022, I absolutely loved this new addition to Clovis! First of all, the staff and waiters/waitresses go above and beyond to make sure that their customers felt welcomed and respected. Second of all, the food was SO GOOD! Even though the prices are expensive compared to other restaurants, the quality of what you get speaks for itself! But the main reason as to why I decided to come here was because I wanted to try their steaks and I was so impressed by how good it came out! Overall, this is a good place to have dinner and is definitely one of the hidden gems of Clovis and of the surrounding areas!

My husband and I went here for a date night and this was a romantic spot with a great food selection! We had the risotto balls, filet mignon, their special which was shrimp tikka misala, and got two desserts - espresso crème brûlée and panna cotta. So delicious! Our waitress was so friendly and the outdoor patio was warm with fire heaters which was a nice touch. Look forward to going back to try more of their cocktails, and the shrimp and grits!

***Second visit- went back for the shrimp and grits and it did not disappoint! Lasagna was great!

We went for my husband's birthday and had an amazing time. The parking lot was full so we were a little discouraged but the wait was less than ten minutes (quoted 20). We ordered two of the tuna specials and it was perfect. Picture included. Would definitely recommend!

The newest restaurant in Clovis and it does not disappoint! Finally a place to sit down for a nice dinner that’s not a chain restaurant with mediocre food. First, the staff here is phenomenal. Shout out to Chelsea! They were so nice and accommodating! We ordered the margarita flat bread, Texican Burger, Fall off the bone beef shank, and the truffle mushroom sauce is to die for. Everything was delicious. They do. not. miss. If you have room the chocolate mousse is a great finish. The biggest complaint I’ve seen is that they’re expensive but good food isn’t cheap and the portions are definitely worth the price! We had to take a box home with leftovers. If you’re looking for a place for a date night or a nice evening out this is the place! Bonus points: Full bar!!

2nd time here and this place is great! We had a large party and some said it was a bit pricy for them, but the food was worth it. The first time I came, I got the filet and this time I got the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus.

Since my last review they have added brunch to Sunday. I ordered steak and eggs with a side of bacon. Food was great! Mimosas and Belinis were tasty and I still highly recommend this establishment.

The Rails was the perrrrrrfect date night spot!! It can be fancier/pricier if you’re looking for that, but they had plenty of less expensive items as well!! It’s the cutest place, great service, and the food and drinks were delicious!!! The bar and indoor eating was so cute! Steaks were great and so were the risotto balls and sides. We will be back!!

The food and service were top notch. The lighting could be just a little brighter, it was difficult to read the menu. Overall great place to dine

Great food! My wife and I got married in front of here next to the Historic Train and then went in here for dinner with our families. They allowed us to bring in a small outside cake. The food is delicious and the service is great. Very cool location also.
