Immediate, friendly greetings set the tone for exceptional customer service. The food? A delightful journey into authentic Southern cuisine. Meeting the owner, who took a genuine interest in our visit, added a personal touch. The restaurant's ambiance, adorned with local art displays, enhanced our dining experience. So good, we returned for an amazing breakfast the next morning. Little did we know, Gaston's is also an inn with charming rooms above – a hidden delight we'll be sure to explore on our next visit. Highly recommended!

Easy parking, new reconstruction, and a really nice atmosphere. The restaurant is super clean and has plenty of seating. Unlike the other restaurants in town, they are consistently open for business and sincerely want that business. Usually, one of the owners is on hand staying on top of things. The staff is very friendly. They are open early for breakfast but primarily serve barbecue, salads, sandwiches, and sides. The menu offers a nice selection and dessert too. I found the food good and plan to return. The fact that it's only about 10 minutes from Gonzales and is located in a historic building is a plus. It is a great place to meet for business and pleasure. Recommend.

Always on the hunt for food, I stumbled across this gem! One of my faves closed shop not long ago, so I lost that option. Well, this looks like a new favorite on the list. I got the 3 meat combo with ribs, pulled pork, and chicken... I chose potato salad and baked beans as my sides! All the meats were seasoned well, and the sides were delicious! Laid back atmosphere with 80's music playing! ❤

Would give more stars if possible. Great appearance. Clean and orderly. Good people and service. Came in a bit late but was greeted and served excellent Smoked Ribeye and loaded baked potato. Glad the “cafe” around the corner was too busy to let me in. Turned out for the better. Next time I wont pass this place for any other. Will come again and recommend to others.

Our son told us about this “new” restaurant in Donaldsonville. Since we were headed that way to support one of his ventures, we planned to have lunch there today. It was the right decision! The food is delicious, service is awesome, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The owners are very inviting and friendly. They shared that the restaurant has been open for about 17 months. They also have a hotel adjacent to the restaurant that they operate. Pay them a visit, you’ll have no regrets!

Highly recommended!! Incredible food and hospitality! High quality smoked meats and burgers, tons of great sides. Thanks again I look forward to coming back next time I'm in town!

Absolutely wonderful experience here! Burnt ends are off the chain, wings were delicious and the service was superior! Definitely worth the drive across the river! Don’t forget to ask about the hotel 🩶🩶🩶

Had to pass through Donaldsonville and stopped here. The food was really good. The mac and cheese was perfect. I spent about $18 with the tip. That isn't much more than I would have spent for a meal at Wendy's or what have you. Check this place out.

never been here before. looked up local food places. saw other reviews and figured i would try out the ribeye. the lemonade is good, the ribeye was really good. ordered med well, cooked perfectly. baked potato was good and hot (they have loaded but i like plain), it literally steamed for 15 mins. huge baked potato. owner came by to see how things were. waitress was very kind. food was out fairly quick. only thing is salt shakers are quick to dump salt so careful pouring the salt. if back in the area will go again.

This place is awesome. It has the best hamburger i have ever put in my mouth. The smoke house burger or shrimp burger are my favorites but all the food on the menu is great. The lunch specials during the week are absolutely delicious. The red beans and fried fish on Monday will make you bite your tongue lol. The smoke meats are good also. The best side for me is the pork and beans with smoke meat added. Im telling this restaurant is on my top 3 of best tasting places i can think of. I have absolutely no complaints even the sweats are good. I recommend everyone to go and try this place. The menu is wide and long. From seafood to bbq to burgers. You cant go wrong at gaston lol.

It was my first time eating at Gaston's BBQ very delicious food. Definitely will be back to eat again. I had the 3 meat meal chicken, brisket, and sausage with baked beans, macaroni, and cheese.

This is a hidden gem. Great people. The owner repurposed all of the original wood. There is a beautiful hotel attached with a gorgeous staircase. The food and atmosphere were great 👍

We love Gaston's BBQ! My favorite is the BBQ Shrimp Potato! It is DELICOUS! It's HUGE! I always have leftovers. They also have the best burger!

Really neat place. beautiful old building. Service was great. The nice lady answered all of our questions and was very kind and polite. Food was really good and flavorful. Mac and cheese was super good as well as baked beans, so they definitely put a lot of effort into their sides.

Neat spot. You can take a nice walk up on the levee after because it's so close by or let kids play on nearby playground if you're traveling through and need a stretch.
