Update as of 01 APR 24:
Overall this is fantastic course in the San Antonio area. Staff is very professional, course is in decent shape (more below) and costs this time around were amazing.

Course Conditions - We got to go off cart path finally, and I saw the ball hit and run for the first time in a while. The greens look like they just got some top dressing with some sand. Although there was noticeable sand, it did not impede the roll of the ball, you just needed to clean your ball each time you putted. The tee boxes were a bit fuzzy in some places, but overall in good shape.

This was my first time being able to use the range prior to teeing off because I was not being rushed off to the boxes. The range balls are provided, but the size of the warm up bag is very very small. I asked for two and they gave me two - this was plenty to use to warm up.

The bar area is under renovation too, so off course amenities were limited. I did see the beverage cart more than once as well.

This was the first time playing the creeks; which is probably the most forgiving of the 3 nines. The creeks is wide open with some interesting dog legs, but they were generally very generous to a miss, and not overly penalizing. I played the Lakes as my front nine and it is OK, not as challenging as the Oaks, but a good layout overall.

I got paired with two beginners - no issues there. However after a few holes, I decided to jump ahead and play on my own and didn't see another group until hole 16 of 18 - I played 18 in about 2 hours and 45 minutes - and that is after playing the first 4 holes in about 45 minutes.

When I first arrive in a new city, I love to go play golf and ask where others like to play. I have been in San Antonio now for a few months and one name that kept coming up was the Hyatt Resort Course - Well as my dumb luck would have it that is the Hill Country Golf Club on Golf Now!

Here's my Review:
1. 27 hole opportunity
2. Course layouts different between each 9 hole layout. I played the Oaks and Lake and one was very tight and required targeted shots with very undulating greens; while they other was very much a "resort style" course - with wide fairways and forgiving approaches. Greens still had "character" though too.
3. Warm Up Area looked nice and fully complete with bunker area too - I didn't use it because I got to tee off as soon as I got there because the course was generally empty.
4. Pace of Play - Amazing - 2.25 hours for 18 holes and we were off cart-path.
5. Carts - GPS with Rain Covers and BRAND NEW. Plus you get 2 waters per cart to boot!
6. Club House and Staff: nicely stocked, reasonable prices and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Bottom Line - I would love to come back and play here again in less windy conditions, but I am in TX afterall.

First time playing here and it quickly became one of my favorites! The weather was cloudy and cool which made it pleasant. GPS carts, bottled water, and TWENTY-SEVEN hole course which are the Oaks, Creeks, and Lakes! Fun time on the course and then lunch at the clubhouse with validated parking pass!

Played 8/20/22
HCP 2

Course is in really solid shape. Fairways are PURE!

Greens are solid but they have a few dead spots, ground under repair, given the hot summer.

Pace of play was excellent - 4 hrs on Saturday AM.

Classic hill country layout, nothing too exciting but much better than a neighborhood course. Fun to play but challenging with woods lining both sides of every hole - would not recommend for beginners.

I will be back!

Great course, very friendly and helpful staff, they have a nice practice area and rates are very reasonable in the fall/winter. Course is always in great shape!

Nice golf course, friendly staff, course conditions acceptable during my visit. Some complementary, bag tag, free range balls, and free bottle of water. The golf cart GPS will help your game if first time playing there. Yes, it’s challenging golf course, sand, water, doglegs, trees are in play. If you like to complain or playing a blame game this is not a golf course for you. This golf course is designed for golfers who love and enjoy this game, and definitely recommended this golf course to everyone who complain-less and live to play more.

One of my favorite golf courses in San Antonio area! 27 hole course broken down into three different 9 hole courses. ( Lakes, Creeks, and Oaks) My two favorite are Lakes and Creeks. Come and enjoy a nice round of golf at this resort club. You won't regret it!

I saw some complaints from a week ago. Played today and the course was in good shape considering the time of year. Greens had some rough spots but they still rolled smoothly. They are working on them so they should be good in a couple of weeks. Had a great time and the staff was phenomenal. Very enjoyable round.

I love visiting this resort, the staff in friendly and helpful. It would be lovely if the invested in LEDs in the lazy river to see at night or some outdoor warm bulb hanging lights to set the vibe and some outdoor speakers with upbeat music🎶

Make it happen CEO!!! ❤😁🥰

I'm not sure what all these negative reviews were about. This place was in great shape. Greens were firm but fair. Fairways in good shape. Nice place to play a challenging round of golf. Worth the price to go play.

1st let me say I was very excited to come play this course. I have lived in the hill country for 11 years now and had heard great things. upon arriving I was directed to the golf shop. All of the inside and outside staff were very nice. I had booked online but was definitely treated like a valued guest. Once the round started I was very disappointed with the course conditions. I understand course maintenance is a must, however, here was an opportunity to inform me of the course conditions and that did not happen. I have to assume that those in charge knew I would've not made the hour drive to come play. Aeration is one thing but multiple greens were absent any actual grass. Bare and crusty area's of the greens made the course barely playable. As we approached the #9 green of our first nine there were numerous workers on the green and we had to wait awhile before they noticed us and let us play. turns out they were pulling weeds out of the green. It looked like a war zone. sad to say, I reached out to the director of golf via email and received no response from them. I guess they don't worry about non-resort guest players.
Update: I received a very gracious email from Ashley Skidmore, the Director of Golf at the Hyatt Hill Country Golf Club. She explained the issues they were facing and offered to have us back when the course had time to recover. as I said in my initial review, the staff were impeccable and Ashley Skidmore is no exception to that.

Fantastic golf course and one of the must plays if you are visiting San Antonio. Plenty of trees to make you feel secluded from other golfers. The third hole of the Oaks nine has a gigantic tree in the middle of the fairway that I can’t decide if I hate or love for the unique challenge. The course is filled with a fun variety of layouts and obstacles that require you to play cuts and draws to score well.

UPDATE: I’ve played this course several more times now, and it and the Palmer course are my two favorite in San Antonio. It’s just a great experience overall and I highly recommend playing all 27 holes if you have the time.

First time staying and playing golf here. All the staff are very accomodating. The rooms are clean and modern looking. Lots of activities for kids and all ages. The golf course is well maintained. Its the people who operates this facility that makes it standout. Looking forward to visit again.

The staff did an outstanding job hosting the Tapps Regional golf tournament. The course was in excellent condition, the best shape of any course we have seen in months.

The Hyatt accomidated my fraternity, Phi Kappa Chi, this past weekend for one night and we absolutely loved it. While the weather was unfortunately cloudy, the amenities at this location were nothing short of amazing. It's a family based hotel so their are children running around but after walking around the campus I'd have to say that this hotel has a lot going for it and I'd highly recommend staying here for any large group function.

This course stays in great condition. Might be the best golf course in South Texas. The staff and grounds crew here is second to none. A very player friendly course.
