I visited during the Totality Solar Eclipse on April 8/2024. Very scenic! There were people from all over the place. It's a great place to camp, do some fishing and hiking.

We used this as a base of operations for our visit to Mount Magazine State Park and surrounding area. We stayed in site number 6 with a 23 foot trailer. A much bigger trailer may be difficult to manage to park, but an experienced driver may have no problem. The lake views were great, the bathrooms and showers were clean and the park was quiet.

It's very flooded right now, but the water feels great. The camping areas were clean and there is a dumpster close. There is a dumpster within walking distance but no close bathrooms. Cost is only $5 per car per day and the area we were in had a water source.

The park is in sight of Arkansas's highest peak, Mt. Magazine. The park is on a peninsula in Blue Mountain Lake. The west side has great sunsets and the north side of park looks up on the twinkling lights of the Mt. Magazine Lodge. Two boat launches, two shower houses, and swim beach are in the park.

I camped here regularly during the hottest part of 2019. Sites 49-51 have the best breezes. Site 51 is too steep for a camper, but might be the prettiest because it looks out on the lake on three sides. Site 4 is the only other site not really suitable for a camper trailer, but (like sies 1-5) has the best view of Mt. Magazine.

Bathrooms are a bit too far from the swimming area. On your way in when you stop and pay, they offer life jackets for free. It's $5 dollars per personal vehicle a day, or the sign says $40 for a season pass. The beach is nice. The kids loved playing in the sand with the sand toys. They have a roped off area for swimming. There is no store close by. They have lots of areas to camp with tents or campers. The spill way side has nice bathrooms with showers.

The people that work there is like family. They have been so helpful with us trying to find a site that will fit our old 40 ft bus.

Great campground! We stayed in our 35 ft fifthwheel in site 8 (great site!), this is a place where most people seem to come for the boating/fishing. So the roads are a bit tight when people park on the shoulders, but it was navigable so long as you know where your rigs clearances are - an experienced driver shouldn't have trouble but a newbie might. We had an easy back in spot, lots of room at our site, the sites seemed well maintained and the whole park in general was very clean and cared for. The showers were nice and got good and warm, the kids playground was super cute, my 4yo and 2 yo loved the swings and slides. All of the views were great! Watch out for the algae blooms (its seasonal), and the no-seeums came out at night but that's normal too. It was very beautiful and peaceful! We will be back!

Camp site #50 (1-4 pictures) . Is out on a point with road circling around bottom portion of it. (Pictures 5-8) is #51. This #51 isn't recommended, as it's right off the road, with limited parking & steep gravel area going down to actual camp site. Electric fairly close but water faucet is some 40' away. I wouldn't recommend this site at all.

Staff was great, park is beautiful, on the lake edge, clean, warm showers, updating grounds to make it better. All the things expected from a private campground not a federal one.
This was our second time here, last time was 2 years ago when we escaped Illinois and moved to New Mexico. Loved it then and had to come back here.

I just love this quiet little area.
PSA: you will be camping in an area with wildlife, so remember to keep food stored out of access of raccoons or you may have to make a trip back to town for groceries 😅 Beautiful sunsets every night. I loved watching the birds while drinking my morning coffee ☕ Woodpeckers visited every morning around 8.
There are 2 bathhouse locations each with wheelchair accessible showers 🚿 and toilet stalls. There is a playground for the kiddos a group shelter house and a stage with bench seating. Several areas to put your watercraft in/out, a swim beach and several camping spots with picnic tables and fire pits. Water and electricity. I highly recommend everyone check this place out at least once ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
