It was Sunday after church. The leaves were starting to change its color. And it was my second Sunday in Brinkley. Now, looking back, I feel so blessed I am here. ❤

A truly wonderful stop that is a must see if you are passing through. The curator was excellent with knowledge of the displays and area. It is open and the outside area is great for kids. Occasionally a train passes by the former depot which adds to the atmosphere.

A very nice and informative museum. Good historical information about the Brinkley area and the railroads of the area. Will definitely go back when I have more time to check out all of the displays.

The Central Delta Depot Museum is a wonderful place to visit! Built in a restored train station, considerably larger than most small town stations in the area, the grounds and the building itself are a train lover's dream.
De Lois is a very kind, knowledgeable lady who will make your stay a memorable one. Hundreds of railroad artifacts, photos, and other historical details make this museum complete. Also, the Underground Railroad Quilt is worth the drive alone.
The setting, next to a grand old hotel, is quite extraordinary.
It's only a 10 minute drive from I-40, but it's like stepping back 100 years.
Visit today!

I've been in this building before it was restored. Let me tell you its come a long way. Pretty much everything inside was donated by local people. The little wooden town and carriage model were hand made. It's nothing compared to big state museums that have big money to buy or rent exhibits. Everything came from local artists and generous donations and the building itself is over a hundred years old. It is located adjacent to the famous Lowe's Bridal. Down the road is another historic building. The Gazzola Maccaro building built in 1915 designed by architect Charles L. Thompson. Completed in 1916 it is Brinkley's most architecturally sophisticated building.

I loved the history and that a small town preserved it so well. The old hotel is still in front of the railroad, it is a beautiful wedding dress shop now. If you are in the area you should stop by, its small but worth it.

Not really sure why the caboose is an ex-Southern Pacific, but nonetheless they have one setup next to the depot. Im happy that somebody made an effort to preserve railroad history. Pretty neat how you can stand out back and see where the old mainline used to run through and yes, the tracks still get used by UP. Grass was mowed up nicely and had flowers outside which made for some nice pictures.
