Mid Valley Dental Associates

My husband and I needed a new dentist when we moved to Albany, and I am so glad we found Mid-Valley.

I have a complicated medical and dental history, but Dr. Reynolds wasn't phased and has been so helpful in dealing with the issues that have come up in my short time as a patient of theirs.

My husband is less complicated but has a few issues leftover from a previous dentist that still need to be resolved, and again Dr. Reynolds jumped right in. The man knows his stuff!

The most amazing thing to me is that Dr. Reynolds was able to extract a tooth with ONLY waking sedation and numbing. I've had a number of procedures in the past and have NEVER been able to get through it without significant pain, unless nitrous was used. Which put me in the weird position of having to call around desperately seeking a dentist that is well versed in using nitrous to prevent pain, rather than anxiety (which is what my old dentist used it for and for some reason this meant that they REFUSED to turn the nitrous up when I was still in pain, so now I DO have anxiety about dental procedures, thanks guys) every time I needed more than a cleaning.

Mid-Valley uses nitrous but they don't like to use it in addition to other sedatives, which I didn't find out until I was in the chair ready to go. The oral sedative they gave is one I've taken before and I SWORE it wouldn't be enough. I was panicking a little but the dental assistant (whose name I didn't catch) was so kind, she offered me a stress ball and said just let us know if the pain is too much and we'll stop and figure it out.

You guys. Other than one very quick sharp pain, I felt almost nothing. I don't know what kind of sorcery they taught at Dr. Reynolds' dental school but this man literally pulled something out of my head with nothing more than some Halcion and Lidocaine. I was starting to think that I was immune to those numbing shots but apparently I just saw a string of terrible dentists.

Last but not least, their office staff is phenomenal. Quick, patient, and personable. They've texted me more than once which I really appreciate (I don't know what it is with millennials and phone calls but texting is just so much easier!) and have gotten me in for same or next day appointments every time something urgent has come up.

I just can't say enough good things!

I just came here to say Dr. Courtney at Mid-Valley Dental Associates in Albany on Willetta Street is seriously the absolute best!!!! She always makes my children feel comfortable and has lots of jokes and laughs. Definitely changes my kids attitudes and feelings about visiting the dentist💙💙💙 Thank You Dr. Courtney for your amazing talent to both treat and fix my children's teeth as well as the love and connections you make with kids while doing your job!!!

Dr Berg is amazing! He has taken such great care of my family, my daughter in particular. My daughter had a broken infected tooth that was causing her a lot of issues (she was not in the united states and had never been to a dentist before). Dr Berg accepted x-rays from a different facility and got her right in for an extraction and dental treatment. Today she had her wisdom teeth pulled and it went flawlessly. Mid Valley Dental Assoc are very professional and the nicest group of people. It's safe to say all of your dental needs will be managed efficiently and with the most up to date and appropriate treatment plans

Dr. Berg is the one to see if you need a tooth pulled. I hadn't gone to a dentist in awhile, so one tooth was beyond repair. Dr. Berg is professional courteous and experienced! He also has extensive experience with implants, and while I chose not to go that route this time; I confidently would recommend this office for implants. I wasn't pressured into getting more done, that what I asked for. Very compassionate care!

My experience at their office was fantastic. I brought both of my sons in to have their molars removed, and Dr Berg had both of them done in less than 45 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Berg is extremely talented and knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions and make sure that we had what we needed to help them recover. I give High recommendations for this office. Thank you :-)

Today was my first trip to a dentist in longer than I can remember, and the first time having a tooth pulled. I had a broken molar that the dentist was able to remove without issue. I thought that it was going to be a surgical extraction because of the amount of tooth broken off, but he did a fantastic job of plucking it out without needing to section it, or cut my gums.

The process was quick, and pain free with the only discomfort being the normal and expected pressure needed for pulling a tooth, and maybe a slight pinch from the needle, they gave me some numbing gel before the shot too, so even that part was barely noticeable. All said, the discomfort was trivial and really not even an issue.

Once the tooth was pulled, I went home with really no pain to speak of, even after the numbness wore off. A couple of Ibuprofen just to help prevent some potential swelling is all I have taken, but again, that was more preventative than for any actual pain.

Friendly and personable dentist and staff who answered all of my questions and did a good job explaining what to expect. If you have a fear of dentists or doctors in general, this is probably a good place to go, they seem to be pretty good at putting you at ease, and from what I can tell, they are good at what they do.

Working with you on payments when you do not have insurance is also a very nice touch. They were the best value and most flexible that I found after calling around, and turned out to be great quality too. I ended up owing less than I had prepared for, and saved some money, so bonus points there.

Give these guys a shot.

I have been very apprehensive to go to the dentist pretty much my whole life. But within the last few months I have had a root canal and all four wisdom teeth pulled and have been very satisfied with the results. I experience no pain or discomfort and I am very please with how the staff and practitioners conduct them selves during and after the procedures. I strongly urge anyone looking for a high quality dentist to consider mid valley dental associates. You will not be sorry!

I had not visited a dental office in 18 years mainly out of my dental phobia/fears. Much to my surprise it was a painless and easy experience even with having to have several teeth extracted. Dr. Reynolds and his excellent assistants put my fears at ease with their calming demeanors and friendly/ informative / honest banter. I am going back and for others with similar fears as mine I would give them a try.

I have terrible dental experiences from growing up in the foster care system. My first visit they were kind, non judegmental, easy to talk to and Dr Berg took time to talk to me and listen individually. Today I had my first appointment for work to be done and the atmosphere was the same. I’m home and on my way to healing. Thank you all for you’re kind, accepting approach and for so many options for me to feel safe and experience the least amount of discomfort.

Consistently efficient, courteous and professional. Super friendly staff that knows how to make you feel as comfortable as you can be, considering it's a dentist's office. The are very fair with their fees for services. Dr. Berg and his team are winners in their profession and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I have been coming to Mid Valley Dental since Dr. Berg took over the office. The fact that I live in Salem and drive to Albany for appointments is a strong endorcement of the care I've recieved over the years. Katie Heim, my regular dental hygienist, is the best when it comes to keeping my teeth healthy, and on my last visit I met Dr. Reynolds, a new member of the staff. I was impressed with the time he spent getting the repair of a front tooth just right.

I've been a customer of Mid-Valley Dental for more than 20 years. Dr. Berg and his staff are committed and genuine in their desire to ensure the best oral care possible.
I no longer live in Albany, but I travel almost two hours to continue my relationship with the staff and the continuity of my tooth care.

Dr. Berg has been my dentist for forever. He's so nice and does such a great job! Katie is amazing as well! Such a great dentist office!
