This 1830 plantation had my attention as soon as we came upon the beautiful land. What intrigues me more is the haunted history of this particular plantation. Great National State Park spot in Derry, Louisiana ❤

The ranger gave us a great tour. Super interesting. Clearly a lot of work has been put into preserving the buildings and historical artifacts. We also enjoyed a small picnic on the grounds.

A lot of history on this plantation. Very interesting to take a look at our past & how far we have come. If you're ever in the area definitely go check it out.

This is the other NPS site in the Cane River Creole NHP. While the Big House is privately owned, the rest of the plantation including the general store, cotton gin and slave cabins are open to the public!

When I was here, the ranger was in the store and gave some great information.

This plantation is where my grandmother family The Buards came from. And this place is very haunted. Majority of the slaves that lived on this land are my descendants.

Lots of history here, good people have ran Magnolia's farm for years and they donated the grounds to the park service. Go take the tour

Beautiful place. Different because it is self guided. But is well taken care of.
