River Bird Lodging

The pictures do not do it justice. My wife and I went down as a last minute weekend getaway. We stayed in the Mockingbird room we were so impressed. They do have a few dogs and cats there that love attention. So be ready to give some pets to them. The family that runs the place is super nice and will make sure your stay is amazing. 100% will go back.

PREFECT for a weekend getaway. The room was very clean, SO cute, and completely accommodating for a last minute trip. The property, view, and walking trail were all beautiful, and the owners and pets were all friendly. My husband and I are already talking about going back next year!

we stayed in The Kingfisher Suite... We checked in on Thursday and out on Sunday today is Monday and we already want to go back!! It's so relaxing and peaceful!! We all fell in LOVE with Poppy. I can't say enough good things!!

River Bird Lodging is awesome! We come at least once a year to relax and enjoy the river. Niki and her family are excellent hosts.

Such an awesome, beautiful place, friendly host including the fur host the cats and dogs are gentle and sweet and made the experience so much more. It's like being away from home with a home feeling. There is nothing you need fully stocked (except fridge) kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, is all there. Being able to walk down the river and enjoy God's work, a fire right outside your door at night setting on the balcony. There's so much to this experience in sure I'm missing something, but my overall experience was perfect.....

Beautiful, calm, peaceful place to relax and take in the fresh air. The cottage suites are super cute, clean and comfy! :) All the conveniences of home without having to bring a lot of extra stuff with you on vacation. The bed was super comfortable and I don't think I have slept better in my life. The views of the mountain and river are breathtaking! :)

I would give this property 6 stars if I could. The property is located right on the river bank with a nice and fully private approach to get in the river to soak or kayak or just lay back and watch birds.
The cabin is tastefully and thoughtfully appointed with every creature comfort you need. The fire pit isn’t just for s’mores. It is the perfect spot for generally sitting around to look at the moon and the river.
The fur babies (2 dogs and a crew of cats) are well-trained to give you as much company as you like or give you space if you need it. They regularly accompanied me and my son as went for strolls through our stay.
The hosts are warm, welcoming and made us feel like it was our own home. Besides all the things you’d expect in a stay like this, the simple joy of sitting by a fire pit on a river bank, chatting and laughing with good people are things that money can’t buy.
We will definitely go back here.

This was our second time here. Great as always. You can feel the stress start to melt away from the driveway. The cabin is great, the scenery is amazing, and the hosts are wonderful and always make you feel at home.

Such a relaxing atmosphere here! We had fun playing on the river and exploring the grounds. The views are Amazing, and the cottage itself was beautifully decorated, spotless, and so comfortable I didn't want to leave. This is the place to spend quality time together, really connect with your family, and make some fun memories.

Perfect little getaway set up on the river surrounded by wildlife. Really enjoyed our time there. Owners were super nice and accommodating. Would rate 10/10

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at the River Bird and had a wonderful time! It was the perfect location for a weekend of fun as well as relaxation! The Kiamichi river is just at the edge of the property so during the day we enjoyed kayaking while at night we made ourselves comfortable on the porch as we listened to the sounds of the river. We also took advantage of some fishing as there are several lakes nearby to choose from.

The owners are wonderful people who were very friendly and accommodating from the time we booked our stay until we pulled out of the driveway to head back home. We hope to go back as soon as possible!

Very nice suite out in the quiet. Had a lovely to kayak paddle on the Kiamichi and saw tons of gar swimming upstream. Room was great, folks were nice, and now looking for a reason to come back!

Great place. Rooms are studio sized and fully furnished. There are kayaks on site if you would like to do river paddling/fishing. River is beautiful and somewhat calm. There is a nice big firepit outside for smores, and charcoal/gas grills available. House doesn't get cell signal (ATT) due to metal roofing but Wifi and wifi calling is availiable if your phone supports it.

This is truely an ideal location if your looking to "get away from it all"

I'd recommend picking up groceries out of town before riding in, the nearby market is somewhat limited and expensive.

Extremely clean and relaxing! Very quiet. We didn't see another person on the river. Fishing was great! Wife and I plan to take our entire family soon.

Wish we could have spent a week there! It was so peaceful and fun for the whole family! They really go above and beyond to make your stay very pleasant! If you want to spend time away from all of the hustle and bustle this is definitely the place to visit!

Our cabin had everything we needed and then some. It was cleaner than some hotel. Lots to do. Wish I could have stayed longer.
