Wonderful views! The food is really good home cooking! Sorry my sweet tea fried chicken picture looks so bad, but I tore into it as soon as I got it!😂 they have the cutest blue eyed goat at their petting zoo. You just have to go and check him out. I took a picture, but you got to see those eyes in person!

Cookie Jar Cafe has a beautiful view of the countryside and plenty of places to park your vehicle. It has a long wait period (our wait was an hour) but you can rock in a rocker to your heart's content listening to piped-in, toe tapping music. There is a pavilion with picnic benches for outdoor eating and a path that takes you to a petting zoo (so my husband said). First thing there...go inside to put your name on the wait list. The atmosphere is comfortable like home and there are cookie jars everywhere. The menu has a large selection of comfort foods for meat and meatless eaters and all the vegetable sides are cooked meat free. Most of their desserts (cupcakes, cakes, pies) are made on site. What I found ironic is that this cookie jar cafe did not have any cookies on the dessert menu!
Once you order your food the wait time is pretty quick. The service comes with a smile and the waitress checks on you a couple times during your meal. You will leave satisfied.

The Cookie Jar is in a fabulous mountainous setting that you can sit outdoors and enjoy the view and the animals while you wait. You can also sit outside on a big wrap around porch with striking views and clean, fresh breezes as you enjoy a delicious country meal. The desserts are generous and will not disappoint any taste bud! It is well worth the drive.

We are originally from Soddy Daisy Tennessee but had to relocate to Atlanta Georgia for work but we drove 2.5 hours after eating breakfast in Atlanta just for pie and cake here. We love everything here!! We are so glad you all are back open and excited to be back in here

The wait was an hour and a half, but we found out too late that you could order takeout and sit at their picnic tables on site. Would have been just 20 minutes for food. We did get some cup cakes that were fabulous.

Sorry to hear the cookie jar burned down (8/2023) but glad they are rebuilding! Good luck to a great place to eat!! Cant wait to come back to see you all.

Great food and great prices. Service was good, knew what was available with a late lunch...kept my drink glass full. OMG...the pies, cakes, and cupcakes! Blew my diet for a week! Highly recommended.

While building my home a few years ago, my sons would offer to come help me but, ONLY IF I BROUGHT THEM TO LUNCH HERE, because of the reputation The Cookie Jar Cafe has for such wonderful homestyle cooking and heavenly pies and cakes. We oftentimes would come eat, leaving with a whole pie or two to take home with us. The food, country-style atmosphere, friendly and prompt service are not to be topped anywhere else. Absolutely the best place to eat here in Dunlap!

My cousins and I get together as regular as we can because we are few now. We are from Alabama and we took a trip here to eat. I have never been. It was such a great road trip to this beautiful restaurant. I was a amazed. Food was great, everyone was so friendly. I'll be back!

Had a long wait. Almost 2 hours. Which for me I didn't mind the wait. Spent that time I loved walking around seeing the animals and getting to pet the goats. That was fun. I love goats. All kinds of animals there. When we got in to be seated me and my parents the service was outstanding. The girl who waited on us she was phenomenal. Always checking on us. I got the grilled meatloaf. What can I say to the grilled meatloaf other than YUM!! It was so good. My dad got chicken tenders. My mom she got the sweet tea chicken. The food was all good. Out of this world good. Well worth the wait 👍👍

Busy place with great friendly service and wonderful food. We had the grilled meatloaf and chicken and dumplings. Kiddo had the mac n cheese and he said it was great. There is a petting zoo and a wonderful porch to sit on during the wait. The cupcakes were delish!

This place had the greatest home cooking I have ever had that wasn't "home made". We took our family after we found it on a date and all 8 of us loved it all over again!
Not to mention the most amazing view😍

This is the first time I've been back since the rebuilding after the fire. The good. I have still never had a better pork chop. Each dessert we had was wonderful. I really enjoyed the coconut pie. It reminds me of my grandmother's which was the very best ever. The bad. They are still trying to get some things straightened out but the okra just wasn't as good this time. We had a group of about nine people and no one finished their okra. The pinto beans were unseasoned and while the steak was flavored very well it was just not a great cut of meat. Also, the wonderful yeast roles that they used to serve have been replaced.

Perfect quick or long stop for delightful treats , food and caring team.
Passing through town, but intrigued by the name and in need of some good breakfast.
Was stopped in my tracks right inside the front door by baked goods, pies and cupcakes (all baked from scratch right here)
The cinnamon roles to go looked divine and I needed one, but, They don’t sell them as a single. So, I ordered a small tray (about 6) and they happily heated one up for me (in the oven- NOT microwave…even better).
Taking the rest with me on the trip for a treat tomorrow and the next day.
Don’t miss the family friendly stop and family history of the cookie jars.

Came in hungry from a long morning riding back roads. The country fried steak was good but pretty much the same as any other cafe, but the scenery, fast service and dessert bar is the main reason to come here... But for me the Wonderful service we received from our waitress made this a true 5 star lunch. I will be back and do recommend it... Be sure to save room for the desert, just note one issue.... Choosing.... Good luck with that.

Love this place! Cute interior with, of course, cookie jars everywhere. Sisters started this resturant to save the family farm from being sold years ago, in fact the farm is still there just down the road. Good job ladies!
The food is wholesome and plentiful. The desserts are to die for. We all ordered our own but passed them around the table and we all shared. There is outdoor seating for dinning or rocking chairs on the big porch for relaxing. Check out the views and the petting zoo.
The staff (hi Sam!) are all friendly and are willing to talk about the area. We got a short but informative lesson in the local history and suggestions for activities. Hang Gliding, camping, river trips, shopping, the list goes on. This place is a little out of the way but definitely worth the trip.

We love coming out here. It always has such nice people. The most beautiful views. My favorite food is the grilled meatloaf with their creamed corn. They also have really amazing backed items like cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. We always get a cute delicious little dessert to take home for later. It has a very unique and charming atmosphere. Its definitely a place to go if you have never been.

This was a great experience. The food was delicious and very well priced. You definitely get what you pay for. The portions are HUGE! Our server, Kenzie, was very attentive and nice. The desserts were great as well. I couldn't believe the size of the piece of strawberry pie and the cupcake our little one had was piled high with delicious icing. We will definitely be back as we were very pleased with our lunch/dinner choice for today.

My husband & I had lunch here today. It was good country cooking. Our food was hot, fresh, and fast! We also had an excellent waitress(Molly). Make sure to save room for dessert because you can't possibly leave this place without a slice of one of their MANY pies and cakes 😋 We will definitely be back. This little gem is located in the middle of nowhere, but it is worth the drive!

Great food, large portions so half of it was boxed for later. Dog friendly dining. Great views. Friendly staff. Cornbread Mexican salad was terrific. Call ahead to reserve. Definitely worth the drive.
