Rock Inn Cafe

Like I have said before. I'm just an old truck driver, in search of the best hamburger steaks, and other delights across the country. And this hamburger steak definitely makes the list. I got here less than an hour before they closed, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, and my meal was served, hot, fresh, and in a very timely manner. And, the food was perfect. If you are ever in Seymour TX I highly recommend the rock Inn Cafe. When ever possible, please support small local businesses. Cracker Barrel can live another day without you. Many small businesses can not.

Older restaurant built in the 1930’s. Friendly staff & quick service! The taco salad was one of the best I’ve ever had! My husband loved his chicken fried steak & hand breaded onion rings were outstanding!

Best burgers ever!! Driving back from Texas Tech University and this whole in the wall restaurant had the most amazing homemade burgers and fries.

I lead a group of high school students on a week long paleontology dig in the Seymour area. This was our “go-to” place for breakfast every day. The food was good and the servers were all so cheerful, courteous, and efficient. We will visit Rock Inn every time our paths take us to Seymour!

Very friendly people. The food is great, reasonable prices, large portions. They are doing things right! We stop for lunch when we travel from the Dallas area to Tucson.

Staff super friendly. Literally service with a smile. Food potions large and tasty. We got fried pickles and we got what seems like a jar of pickles 😂, taco salad, and quesadilla burger.

Excellent burger, home fries, hand-breaded onion rings!! Steak finger and chicken fried steak, too!! Great service, GENEROUS portions. Old soda shop cafe environment. 😊😋

Great home cooked food! Staff was very friendly and quick on service. Just a good small town cafe to stop and get some great food.

We love the food and the staff are always so friendly! We stop every time we travel through to Amarillo. The steak fingers are my favorite! They’re homemade and always delicious. Husband loves the onion rings! Stop when you get a chance, you will be happy you did!

The building itself is dated and a bit run down (The WONDERFUL young waitress we had suggested, jokingly, that the building is 100 years old)
The waitress as mentioned was AWESOME.
The food was really very good, HUGE portions at a very reasonable price.
They have obviously worked hard to doctor up the interior with some nice paintings and entertaining quirky signs.

IF we are in the area again and need a meal, we will definitely stop again.

EDIT: The "fact" this building is actually 100 years old is both amazing, and incredibly cool! And I have to add an extra star for atmosphere just for that.

Great breakfast only complaint would be the pancakes are very dry, I put the 2 containers of syrup on and by the time I got to center it needed more. The waitress was wonderful and had great personality and coffee was delicious. Definitely recommend, worth the stop.

Loved this place. Stopped here on my way to Odessa and was met with good food and great service.

Some things never change!! The owners and the menus have changed in the 60 years I’ve traveled thru. It’s iconic in its own right and the food is amazing! Friendly locals are a bonus here~ We shared a juicy crispy chicken fried chicken perfect with real mashed potatoes and green beans with a side salad first. Less than 20 bucks and more than we could finish! We left a nice tip for our friendly and efficient server and can’t wait to travel this way again! ROCK INN!!!!

Rock Inn Cafe is the best breakfast place in the country by far. The cafe is cleaner than a palace and the food is as good as if it was made by a 5 star chef. My table of 30 people got our food within 3 minutes of arrival. We didn't even order yet and they knew exactly what we wanted. Rock Inn Cafe should make Seymour, Texas, a tourist attraction. We'll be back!

I love the good food and good service. I also like their good sense of humor. We had fun.
