Greeter Falls at South Cumberland State Park

Such a beautiful place to hike and swim. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a place outdoors to spend the day. I was clean. Lots of different trails. It’s a wonderful way to spend a day.

Great little hike to see a beautiful waterfall. Paved parking area but no bathrooms that I saw. No fee. Just park and walk across from parking area to marked trailhead. It is a short hike down with roots, rocks/ cliffs and a cool spiral staircase to traverse down to. Wouldn't recommend bringing your pets. The staircase might be to much for pets. Also sharp drop offs. Still a beautiful experience and would do it again.

It was a short fun walk to the falls..I definitely recommend going to both upper and lower falls..if you want a good hike..keep going to ranger falls! About 3.6 miles from greeter to ranger falls..fun some strenuous spots..especially going back to greeter..it's uphill a long way!

Nice moderate trail, lots of roots and uneven ground. beautiful view of the fall at the end of the trail.

A very nice waterfall. The trail was a bit muddy but still loved the hike. Nice spiral staircase going down to see the falls from down bottom.

Amazing swimming hole and a beautiful waterfall. The hole down is a little rough so wear appropriate shoes. I’ve seen 2 people fall.

A very good place to hike. Popular too! Be mindful of the limited parking, which can be a factor accessing trail.

Moderate hike, but not nearly the hardest around

Great time working on the trail at Greeter Falls in Altamont, TN with our Ranger group from St. Matthew’s and the TDEC natural areas staff. Hopefully the re- routed trail will last awhile given the increase in trail traffic over last few years.

Best place to hike ever. Water falls was just beautiful. Worth the hike.

Easy 5⭐ swimming hole. Laid back creek feeding Greeter falls with smaller falls on top. 50' Greeter falls.

Loved spending time in the park the trail to lower Greeter Falls was mostly moderate in difficulty. The steps down to the fall pool were slick. The trail from lower Greeter up to Board Tree had some more difficult areas. Enjoyed the day and if you like the outside, exploring, and looking at waterfalls you will definitely want to visit.

Beautiful! Short hike to falls and Blue Hole... Love it...

Honestly I've only ever been to the blue hole area but the dogs love to play in the water there. The kids love the friendly environment and getting to meet other folks as well. Great place to swim and be out doors.

Gorgeous falls, but quite dangerous right after a rain. Lots of little kids down at the bottom as well as adults.

Wonderful views at falls and fun for kids at blue hole (fun slide of rocks over water). If have young children or scared of heights I recommend going to blue hole. Cliff edges on greeter falls Falls hike and spiral staircase which has long drop off at beginning.

Moderate hike to the falls. We stopped at the upper falls. You can walk (with great care and caution) down and actually wade in the water by the falls. Very beautiful and serene.

If you love nature, and you love a good nature hike, including the trek back up, you will love Greeter Falls! It is absolutely gorgeous at any time of the year!
