Hickory Ridge Vineyard and Winery

Loved our visit here on a warm winter day in February. Their Norton dry red is the best I've had and definitely worth the stop! Also can't beat the view here. Serene and beautiful.

Great wine and lovely setting to enjoy it in! I would definitely go back. Near the National Shawnee Forest in Illinois it is off the beaten path and so relaxing!

Hickory Ridge Vineyard is a beautiful gem in the country with an awesome view of the Shawnee Forest and their vineyard. They have the best Norton wine on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail in my opinion.

We liked this winery for its views, size and selection of locally made wines. The seating area is cozy with beautiful views overlooking the vineyard.

This is THE winery on the Shawnee wine trail for dry wines. Great flavor profiles and good complexity. This place is also a hidden gem. No commercials vibes. Tucked away with great views, setup invites you to lounge, saw a picnic welcome sign. Will definitely come back to drink and picnic here.

Beautiful scenery, serene atmosphere, excellent customer service, and Superior wine these are just a few descriptions that come to mind when I think of this absolutely wondrous place. The owners, Ron and Sylvia, are both foundations of necessity to the charm and splendor of this place. Whether you're there to enjoy a glass of wine while overlooking beautiful vineyards, or to sit around campfire on a chilly evening with some friends, both can be done while enjoying award-winning wines. This place is a must visit anytime I'm near it.

Hickory Ridge has the BEST Dry Reds on the Shawnee Wine Trail! We love the ambiance of this adorable family owned winery. We have been visiting them for years and their wine only gets better. The owner is so sweet and always more than willing to answer our questions and educate us about southern Illinois viticulture. Beautiful location and not commercialized like other wineries can be. We highly recommend sharing a bottle of their amazing Norton out on their covered deck. Savor the wine and the view!

I can’t possibly say enough about Sylvia, Ron and Hickory Ridge Winery and Vineyard. All of their wines are amazing!From their Norton,The Other Side, Widow’s Kiss to Hankies you can’t go wrong. And Sylvia makes a fantastic Sangria! The view of their Vineyard is beautiful, serene, tranquil. Ron and Sylvia themselves are among the nicest, coolest people I’ve ever met. Picnic and Dog friendly. A treasure!

Love, love, love! Their wines are great, the scenery is beautiful, the owner is amazing, and it’s a little farther off the beaten path (so you hear birds and crickets instead of cars whizzing by). They were very dog friendly and the owner brought out a bowl of water for our pup as soon as we walked up. We can’t wait to come back!

This winery had the best view out of the wineries my husband and I visited. They only have dry or semi-sweet wines, but the port wine they have here is fantastic! I tend to be more of a sweet wine drinker, but I still really enjoyed the port and the semi-sweet wines. Sylvia is one of the owners here and she was very kind. Would recommend stopping here, especially for the beautiful location.

I visited all but two of the wineries on the Shawnee Wine Trail this past weekend and by far my favorite, both in terms of wine and ambiance, was Hickory Ridge. Every wine offered was delicious and the knowledge and passion of the staff made the whole experience incredible. Hickory Ridge is the only winery on the trail that grows all of its own grapes! Whether you love sweeter wines or dryer wines, Hickory Ridge has something great to offer you. The Norton was my favorite wine of the weekend and I can't wait to go back soon!

Hickory Ridge Winery produces some of the best dry red wines on the Shawnee wine trail. Their Chamborcin is a robust delicious wine that dry red lover's are sure to enjoy. They have a variety of delicious white and red wines ranging from sweet to dry. The property is beautiful and the staff are always pleasant. Dont miss this stop on the wine tour.

Great little hidden gem! Surrounded by grapes. Absolutely what a winery should be. Pleasant people that do the wine tastings. I would recommend for all wine lovers. Reds & Sweets are fabulous.

I almost don’t want to tell people about this beautiful, secluded little winery. The view from the deck was amazing. So peaceful and quaint. Excellent precautions in place so that we could still enjoy a winery during covid. This is absolutely one of my favorites. Shhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone.

We loved this winery. The lady was so nice and we loved her dog! The wine was great as well.
